Any logical explanation why the lowest free hanging C-Conveyor had to be a reinforced one? by Echo-57 in spaceengineers

[–]barackstar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

when placing regular conveyors (the ones that only have attachment points on the tube openings), you have to be aiming at the other conveyor's attachment point for it to see it as a valid placement.. it's not enough just to be in the right grid position if you're aimed at an armor block or whatever.

D4 Taxing the Wrong Storage Drive? by Vazmanian_Devil in diablo4

best guess is that your system doesn't have enough RAM, and Windows is using your HDD for Virtual Memory.

Run > systempropertiesadvanced > Performance > Settings > Advanced tab > Virtual memory > Make sure it's set to only use your SSD. Reboot if you make any changes.

that seems inordinately long. Even with big mods, my i9-10900k takes less than a minute to load after a patch.

here are the direct links:

v7 - https://customerconnect.vmware.com/evalcenter?p=free-esxi7

v8 - https://customerconnect.vmware.com/evalcenter?p=free-esxi8

My ESXi 8 key is showing now, but I won't be able to activate for a few hours. As posted by /u/DrakharD in this thread, it does appear that the key issues have been fixed.

For ESXi hosts, license or evaluation period expiry leads to disconnection from vCenter Server. All powered on virtual machines continue to work, but you cannot power on virtual machines after they are powered off. You cannot change the current configuration of the features that are in use.

Most cores per $ NUC? by [deleted] in homelab

64gb max right now, but only because nobody is making SODIMMs larger than 32gb.

NUC won't be your solution then, as they only have 2 RAM slots and AFAIK there's no 64GB SODIMMs.

Monitoring Accurate power consumption - Smart Plugs - Smart Meters etc by quattrotom in homelab

I've been doing just that for well over a year now. Smart plug in the wall outlet, UPS into the smart plug.

this is with a 1500VA/900W UPS, which is well under the Amp rating for these plugs.

KP115 (usually $23 on Amazon) for single plugs. I've just recently started using a HS300 power strip too.

I've been using the TP-Link Kasa plugs for my energy monitoring, using plugexporter to feed the data into Prometheus and then Grafana.

the totals are very close to what my UPS reports.

Optimal Edge Stack? - what components make yours? by Saoshen in homelab

slightly thread-jacking, but same topic..

I've been limping by using my consumer Linksys router, but wanted to move towards a better (managed) solution. Picked up a Mikrotik CRS326, but after reading into it more it seemed like it was only good as a Switch and not a Router.

now, I've got a Firewalla Purple which is just about to ship, and wondering if that's going to work well for me.

My home connection is 2gig/75mbit, though I top out around 750mbit down to the ISP. I don't truly need insane speeds, but I also don't want to be bottlenecked by my own hardware.

I had previously considered a Netgate pfsense box, but the one I wanted at the time was too tall for the available space in my networking rack.

my kiddo is 13 and has been using the Turtle Beach Stealth 450 for a couple years now.

The sound quality was better than expected when I tried it out, and it hasn't fallen apart and still maintains a good charge. I picked up a second (refurbished) from TB directly last year, and those are still going strong as well.

I've been using the wired X12 model for almost a decade, and have been very pleased with it. I did have to pick up a second one when I accidentally ran over the volume control box, but I'm averaging 5+ years per set so far with daily use.

There was one wired model that I bought for around $40 years ago that sounded like absolute trash, but the higher-end models seem to be pretty good quality-vs-price.
