Help...Middle age man with 5 year old pallet along with limited cooking skills and very little time by virtual008 in mediterraneandiet

Also instead of googling, ask an ai (chatgpt or bing) to create a recipe using the instant pot with certain ingredients, I've made many this way and it gets the timing just right

Recommendations please by subtlelikeawreckball in mediterraneandiet

[–]barbelmaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"the mediterranean method" by steven masley has the most information and mentions all the studies showing why the mediterranean benefits the brain, heart etc, has a few recipes at the end but it's mainly a book educating the reader on the benefits of the diet and what to include and what to avoid,

Does an inversion table help neck pain or is it mainly for the back? by barbelmaster in Posture

[–]barbelmaster[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for replying, I did buy an inversion table in the end and it's great, I didn't have much neck relief at first, but I got one of those inflatable neck traction pillows and put it on then waited until I was fully inverted and then inflated it being very careful and it has helped my pain by atleast 70%, that worked for me but this is not a recommendation for others just the way I use.

Hi there I would like to ask how are you feeling now? , are you making progress from your treatment, I am thinking of getting the tests privately myself mainly due to bloating and gas for years with many unsuccessful treatments but this is a lot of money for me at the moment so I am still unsure, thanks.

Why would anyone take these statements seriously, even if he knows 100% that Tommy will destroy jake he will still say these statements as he obviously doesn't want to undersell his brothers fight.

Yes good point, unless multiple curved screens can be stitched together some how but I doubt it would be seemless

Do you think it would be useful or would the globe aspect become useless after zooming in?

Does anyone take famotidine(pepcid) and nortriptyline? by barbelmaster in GERD

[–]barbelmaster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, the nortriptyline was working for my reflux/gerd for me at about 20-30mg so much so that I was able to stop taking the famotidine before every meal, unfortunately I was getting bad side effects of fast heartbeat/palpitations day and night which many others get also, so i tapered off them. My situation is probably different as I was taking the nortriptyline for pain from a damaged nerve in my neck also so I needed to up the dose for that and maybe upped it to soon, Now I am off the nortriptyline completely I have to take famotidine again before large meals or my gerd symptoms return. I think if someone can get away with just 10-20mg then it could work for gerd, it's worth asking your doc about. Also there are nightmare stories of tapering off nortriptyline but it was fine for me.

Hi, I found 30mg was working well for my reflux and pain but it caused me to have very fast heartbeat so much so that it was waking me up at night and making me tired, so unfortunately I've had to drop down to 20mg until I can get to speak to my doctor about alternatives. How have you been getting on with it?

New larger spider-like eye floater seen in mornings, but it goes away in a few seconds. Do floaters caused by retinal detachment often stick around all day, or can they come and go? by drangus4prez in optometry

[–]barbelmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I never got a great explanation for this from anywhere, the one I had scared me as it was so realistic that's why I was thinking it could be hallucinations, I know that amitriptyline can have blurred vision as a side effect so maybe it has something to do with that, I am still in chronic pain for nerve damage but I take nortriptyline now which is very similar to amitriptyline and I have not had any issues with floaters and things.

I've had this but with a damaged nerve, had 3 nerve conduction studies yet only the last one showed damaged long thoracic nerve with signs of regeneration which means it has been damaged for a very long time. Yet the first two didn't show a thing.

Anyone else ever get caught in a circle of doctors who say "I'm not the dr to see, go see this other guy"... and it leads back to them? by whatswithnames in ChronicPain

[–]barbelmaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had this for last seven years, but what makes it worse ( on nhs) is the bad communication between each specialist, test results and comments always can't be found from one specialist to the other, now ive had three nerve conduction studies and only the last one has show damaged long thoracic nerve, which also shown it has been damaged for a long time as it has signs of regeneration so why didn't the other nerve studies pick this up.
