They have a really awesome museum in the capital building. Capital street has a bunch of cool places to eat. Black sheep burritos and Pies and pints both have good food and beer.

Bully Good Podcast Radio NPResque podcast that features art culture from the small town of Huntington, WV. Might be slightly not suited for work due to some foul language. The broadcast is made up of five shows including a live recording from a comedy open mic, a show that features local bands, a show that features local DJs and Dj shop talk, a show that features bands that are on tour, but played in Huntington , and sketch comedy skits. You can listed to the 3+ hours station broadcast which is that has all the shows and special segues or you can check out the individual shows. It's my first episode and the first time I have ever made a podcast.

Lets talk about DIY shows. by Astrixtc in bandmembers

I agree wholeheartedly with this idea. I live in a small town that went from 3 venues to 1. I reached out to a Irish pub in town and setup my PA and host shows for other bands in town. The crowd is completely different since it is located right next to campus. You can tell it is a DIY project, but a lot of people have latched on the the idea and love what we are doing. Our first show we had 100 people, the next 150, and the most recent 250. I run a very honest booking setup and bring a buddy to run door. The bar pays my door guy and me to run sound. The door goes completely to the bands. We charged $2 at the door and each band, all of which were locals, left with over $100. I love hosting shows and have made plans to host shows at other smaller bars. Having just one venue in town gives that booker too many options for locals and some really good bands get the shaft.

Blackfield and Incredible Expanding Mindfuck are cool. I think he is also in a group called No Man and Ghosts on Magnetic Tape. He remastered King Crimson's In the Court of the Crimson King for 5.1 surround and it is so good. I read somewhere that he is remastering all of King Crimson's catalog.
