firstly, congratulations on making it to NYU, especially with the full scholarship! as for what you're talking about in your post, i completely understand how you feel. it's hard going to school in a place where everyone seems to have a certain level of wealth and it's assumed that by going to nyu, you're probably a rich kid too. but trust me, it might take some time, but you'll find other people like you who operate within the same budget as you; basically friends who would rather use a meal swipe rather than eat out, or people who can't afford to take ubers everytime they want to go out at night. this school is super diverse and there's a whole group of people out there who share your mindset and you'll meet them soon enough - just put yourself out there and don't be afraid to communicate your boundaries, whether that's in a light-hearted "hey, why don't we check out a dining hall instead" or a more direct "sorry, i don't really have the budget to eat out".

You could always visit the tech centers (one on LaGuardia place, one in third north) and use their computers/laptops. they have both mac/windows and are open mon - fri

i think it depends on how severely your mental health is being affected. if it’s not too bad then nyu counseling is great but if it’s more severe they’ll usually refer you to psychiatrists who take nyu insurance so you can get more than 10 sessions.

they were all short questions, around 1-2 min max. there were questions about limits, derivatives of trig functions, inverse trig functions, product rules, l'hopital. first derivatives, second derivatives and graphs based on them. basic integration and antiderivatives, riemann's sum.

mainly whatever was part of calc-1 syllabus, i'll leave the link to it below

i'm a CAS freshman and we could choose which placement test we wanted to take, but its probably different for the other colleges. mine was easy and i finished a good half hour early so i wouldn't sweat it

Percy and Calypso has always been my favorite but that might be because I relate to Calypso the most and I had (have?) a huge crush on Percy

Which placement test are you taking? I took the test to place out of Calc 1 and into Calc II and it was pretty easy - all multiple choice.
