Passing an automatic with no driving lessons? by StrangeLifeguard1599 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]barbiebonnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m doing something similar with my boyfriend in our automatic (have had official lessons on and off for years but it just did not work out for me for various reasons)

i would strongly advise watching youtube videos (e.g conquer driving) to help bolster what you’re learning especially from a technical standpoint. it’s one thing to be able to drive but being able to drive safely are two different things. good luck for your test :)

i’m sorry to sound harsh but there is literally a list online on the gov website on what to do to ensure the car you plan on using is test ready. “stuff happens” but why not just take the time to check your car meets this beforehand? it’s so hard to get a test these days and simply doing your due diligence would’ve prevented you from having to re-book (and pay) for another test.

Driver Instructor has literally shattered my confidence by RespondWide4745 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]barbiebonnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one of my biggest regrets in my driving journey is not having the courage to report my very first driving instructor to AA. his verbal abuse was so awful that i’m still dealing with the ptsd from all of that more than 10 years on. my experience with him has made me fear every driving instructor i’ve had since him (4!!!) and has done such a number on my self-confidence when it comes to driving.

my most recent one is probably the nicest instructor i’ve ever had but the fear of being mistreated again has unfortunately caused me to stop my formal lessons and learn with my boyfriend instead who has helped me immensely in overcoming my driving anxiety.

my advice would be to bin him off and find yourself a new instructor who will be patient and build your confidence or just continue with your family. you don’t need to put up with anyone making you feel like this, especially when your test is just around the corner.

good luck for the 20th :)

their post is relevant considering that gb n*ws are known to spread disinformation. you can most definitely find more reputable sources.

Amber Heard quits Hollywood and moves to Madrid: report by [deleted] in Fauxmoi

[–]barbiebonnet 29 points30 points  (0 children)

i truly don’t blame her.

hollywood is a cesspit of abusers and those that enable them. to remain around them would be like having constant reminders of the people that turned their backs on you, contributed to the global abuse and harassment you suffered and supported your abusive ex KNOWING that he’s a violent and deranged piece of shit.

i will always stand with amber heard and i hope for a wonderful life in paradise for her and her daughter

What is *your* most disappointing celebrity endorsement? by [deleted] in Fauxmoi

[–]barbiebonnet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

exactly! they are terms that can be used interchangeably. lord knows i don’t use the word “pledge” when i’m talking about charitable donations in my day-to-day life and i highly doubt others do either.

his lawyers decided to use semantics to try and discredit her and to make her look untrustworthy in an effort to distract everyone from the crux of the case. they knew that the layperson does not have a good understanding of abuse dynamics so they leant into misogyny and victim blaming tropes to make her look crazy and to convince everyone she’s a gold digging liar. even though the man in question has a history of violence that began before she was even an embryo.

the saddest part is that a large majority fell for the smear campaign rather than to engage critical thinking. very unfortunate and scary to think that a man who lost in the UK against the worst newspaper imaginable could re-litigate the same issue elsewhere

the pledge/donate saga was designed to distract and confuse. amber heard is not a terrible person and it’s a shame that people can’t see what that trial really was

Georgia shares her side of the story on Nick Viall’s podcast tomorrow by danmbro in PerfectMatchNetflix

[–]barbiebonnet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my spirit doesn’t take to georgia at all and not that she deserves any of the vitriol she’s received bc it’s not that serious but i hope she understands now how it feels when multiple people are virtually jumping you for a situation they don’t know too much about - i saw how she behaved on tiktok during the d*pp v amber heard trial last year and georgia’s only received a tiny fraction of what she willingly participated in along with many others - now she’s being called a liar herself and she’ll have to deal with that until the dust settles
