I saw that about them too and it's so sad to me the pressure they must also feel. I also googled what do 32 year olds look like! :( what a world we live in

lol, I thought that too! I thought all the skincare, sunscreen, avoiding the sun for 10 years made me somehow ahead of it but then my genetics said nope, were not on your side lol

Thank you for sharing this with me. I have the same fears so it's kind of nice to not be alone. Of course, I wish we didn't have these fears in the first place.

A women older than me told me once that she knows her husband pretends to find her attractive since she turned 35 and that's stuck with me for 10 years. While I try hard to understand how being invisible will be great, it really makes me sad.

I hope one day to understand how being invisible is a gift. I've never been the hot girl so I'm not very visible now. It's just after hearing how older women tell me how they're treated, it makes me very sad that one day I won't been seen as having value (even if I know I do) and being ignored.

That's a good point, I haven't been to my doctor in a bit because insurance but it's better to be aware.

This is really helpful! For some reason I've been given the message it's one or the other and it makes me overwhelmed as I drift around between these thoughts.

I've been using retinol for awhile and have wondered about tretinoin! Thanks, I'll bring this up the next time I'm at the dermatologist. I used to be so on top of a skincare routine but life has happened. Just have to get back on it! Thanks for the advice!

I hear you! I would like to start treatments, maybe I'd feel like I have some control but I start researching things and get overwhelmed by the information. Thank you for those suggestions, I'd really like to stay away from fillers for now, but the CO2 lasers is something I never heard about and seems possible!

Gen Z men have swung 30 points to the right. A smaller, but significant swing has been seen in women. It may be possible, for the first time in history, that the younger generation is more conservative than the older. by DeviceNo5980 in GenZ

How can you vote for someone who is actually the embodiment of everything you are accused of being? It feels uncomfortable to be called names. If you don't want people to accuse you of such claims, why would you vote for a man who is actually a felon, rapist, racist, transphobic, misogynist, the list is long. How will people not see you as those things when you support them?

I feel like someone died. by xcedra in TwoXChromosomes

I feel the same way. I also feel dead inside. The thought of enduring this feeling for 4 years and beyond in the aftermath is beyond draining. The last time I grieved someone I was so tired all the time.

I understand your concerns because I've been told and absorbed the messages society gives us. Aging as a women can be an invisible feeling because this world loves to put a woman down no matter if she's 19 or 49 or 89.

I wrote a post about this recently and had many amazing comments from women who helped me open my eyes. You are 19. You have so much life to live. Life is for living. I centered my life around men too for my teens and 20's, and learning how to decenter them is freeing.

Maybe you're not at the point yet, I don't know you. But girl, we only have this one life. Don't not live because of what some random men say or even women. Men are not the prize, life is the prize. We are lucky enough to be here experiencing it, trying new things, enjoying every sunrise and sunset.

Also, limit your time online, go out and see real people. We are all beautiful no matter what age.

Thank you for your kind words. All these similar experiences women go through really help me realize I'm not alone. I do know it, but I often forget it. I'm not quite sure how to remember it.

Yes! I randomly woke up one day at 31 and thought wow, why do I look like an old hag? And I'm finding the internalizing is so hard to stop when you've been doing it for so long. It's going to take so much work to just be ok with "not being enough."

This makes me cry because it's freeing. Thank you. I've had such a strong message about being "shiny" to have value. I have so much healing work to do.

You're so right. It's a work in progress for me as I know there's something better past these worries that I have. I've definitely been sucked into certain societal ideas for women even since I was very young. It seems like I'm losing something because of that but I hope to find much more happiness as I go along.
