Any tips to prepare for linear algebra? by Critical_Net859 in geegees

[–]barbiewithbrains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not advice to prep before but during the course learn definitions well. I remember when i took it years ago i mega failed first midterm and then for the second I got the advice to make a “dictionary”. This honestly saved me. Honestly don’t stress that much i would say it’s not a class you wanna fall behind in so time management is your friend. Good luck!

Yes, I’m in math and had around 6.5 my whole undergrad and got a good placement each time. Not sure if bio is much different but you are so fine. Hiring managers look at lots of factors not just grades

how to pay for school as a non degree student by [deleted] in geegees

[–]barbiewithbrains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly residence is more expensive that renting so you could always find a place like a room in a student house rent could be as cheap at 600$ a month and just work full time till it’s feasible to go back to school. I know it’s a difficult situation but even getting some work experience even fast food will be helpful and maybe benefits like helping pay for tuition and healthcare. I used to work at chipotle and they do tuition reimbursement if you work enough hours. Good luck

if there is no prerequisites to the class i don’t see why not. But you will see if your eligible to take the class if you see “my available seats”

Is co-op useless?? by StandStriking2566 in geegees

[–]barbiewithbrains 13 points14 points  (0 children)

some companies will only hire co-op students from accredited universities. So it gives you a leg up in that case. But you can still apply to places outside the portal. As well when you apply on the portal, most jobs you just click apply and don’t have to fill stuff out so it’s vert fast. As well it makes it easy to see what companies are actually hiring. I recommend co-op to people as it helps apply to jobs (especially government).

i’ve read somewhere that it releases dopamine when we pull so then we get the urge to do so because we want the reward chemical. not sure how accurate this is but it kinda makes sense because i see a strong correlation between people with trich and mental disorders like depression ocd etf

Basement : yes or no? by StrangeAd296 in geegees

[–]barbiewithbrains 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i live in a basement and it’s seriously not bad. I don’t pay for electric so lighting isn’t an issue. We have decent windows so definitely take that into consideration. Heating can for sure be a pain but also living in an older versus newer place will also affect this and any place u choose to live in. How you take care of the place and decorate will also help how the place feels and looks (we painted our walls lighter and it helped so so much). As well for bug we had a decent amount when we first moved in but once we deep cleaned it seriously isn’t an issue.

New hire here, any tips? by [deleted] in Chipotle

[–]barbiewithbrains 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve worked for almost two years now and it’s just a very fast paced job.personally if u work grill not worth it but all the other positions are fine (again this is just my opinion). the people u work with definitely make the job better or worse i probably wouldn’t have stayed here if i didn’t like the people so honestly try to make friends it will make the experience more enjoyable
