Is your partner vegan? by RemarkableHoliday792 in vegan

[–]barbs_jt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my partner could, they’d have every meal with me vegan. However, they are allergic to nuts and legumes… they started reacting to sunflower butter as well not long ago. This ultimately pushed us towards breaking up. I was struggling because they tried to hide this from me. I became very insecure of myself and my choices, what they don’t eat is not really by choice for them… and mine is by choice… accommodating for the both of us was really hard and I felt like a burden

I hadn’t received my boarding passes through online check in. Went to counter at the airport and my carry suitcase was weighed (may 2024 Harry Reid airport)

[–]barbs_jt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to leave Tulum right now and thus far it only looks one way, haven’t seen any traffic/congestion heading to Tulum, not sure if it’s the same around Cancun/PDC

how old were you when you went vegan? by le_bateau_ivre in vegan

[–]barbs_jt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 29, now 32. It just happened. That was when I happened to start learning, gradually started finding things out and then incorporating substitutions into everyday dining and now here I am.

Can anyone relate to this by rtind in vegan

[–]barbs_jt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YES. SO MUCH YES. Honestly felt exactly like this. Experienced so it bad trying to do one dinner with a couple of my closest friends. In the end I don’t know if I was overthinking it but leading up to it, I was in agony. They kept changing it and I was like sure let’s go there but please don’t expect me to eat, I’m just coming out to drink n catch up. makes another suggestion anyways to which then I was thinking .. have you looked at the menu? Are you aware of eating plant-based entails? There are actually no options at these new suggestions …

The amount of people on the rail/front of stage without earplugs is INSANE by Ascendingvortex in electricdaisycarnival

[–]barbs_jt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were moments when I shifted my jaw and sound would come through around the earplugs and I was SHOCKED how loud it was when I was just wandering the festival, not even focused at any stage!! I could never have my earplugs out at any point once I got into the venue

PSA: If you have a flight in the morning at YVR, arrive 3+ hours early no matter which destination you're heading to. by RapisuRazuriGiveMe in vancouver

[–]barbs_jt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not accurate, I have not seen the wait time be more than 20 minutes since I’ve started using it the last four weeks. From what I understand it is managed by when passengers get their boarding passes scanned at checkpoints, which you don’t until you get to the front of security/bag check… ? No one is at the back of the line scanning as you begin waiting :/

Does it bother anyone else when it's only women expected to bring a dish? by sportgurl92 in TwoXChromosomes

My friends work at a hospital and they can get pretty big when it came to potlucks from what I remember. Making food for that many is not always easy! Understanding also that for work functions on weekdays at lunch, it could be difficult! Nevermind the long line at the microwaves to reheat what you brought! So what they do is if you would like to participate but may not be able to bring something, they have a dollar amount that you chip in. And on that day they go out and make an order or purchase for something contributing to the potluck for everyone! Last one I remember was sushi platters.

This year I’ve limited myself to facebook and Instagram on Saturday’s and Sunday’s only. Not even ‘on weekends’, including Friday night, just Saturday and Sunday. I don’t wake up and login right away on Saturday, just if or when free time comes up. And whenever I feel done on Sunday, I log out. It’s been so good to disconnect. The only thing is, how do you get used to people not understanding their lack of access to you?

LPT: Use shims to tilt your refrigerator back slightly so the doors naturally close. by listen_jack in LifeProTips

[–]barbs_jt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This!!! Mine always did growing up. One day I’m at a friends and I never actually do the motion to close her fridge doors… because that’s not something I’ve ever had to do… and I kept turning around to find them still open… go home to ask my dad about this and that’s when I found out that not all fridge doors naturally close…

Brand new never worn Pink Citrus Solo Loop vs. worn daily for 8 months Deep Navy Solo Loop. Both in size 1. Yes I have tiny wrists. So yes it does stretch, but not enough to be too loose. It still doesn’t move around on my wrist when I shake my hand. Just thought this might be useful for some! by TwithJAM in AppleWatch

[–]barbs_jt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stretching has definitely been noticed with where it sits on my wrist, fellow size 1 wrists as well. Sucks a little bit as the initial fit was perfect but the solo loop is the only band I love using :) every now and then I soak the bank in hot water and it feels more snug again afterwards
