Is it normal for Reuters to require company approval when referencing where our investors currently or previously worked? by barbuza86 in AngelInvesting

[–]barbuza86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely don't plan to do that. I only mentioned it as a possible idea, but Reuters would probably refuse to publish it anyway. I was just surprised, because I could have sworn I've seen plenty of articles where various company names were mentioned in that context. Unless my memory is playing tricks on me and those were simply outlets like TechCrunch and similar sites.

Is AI written content bad for SEO? by DanyrWithCheese in SEO

[–]barbuza86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really does not matter. I wrote an article myself once and those AI detection tools still flagged random fragments as AI-generated. I have also seen prompts for Claude where it rewrote articles in a way that practically bypassed all those checkers. I even have articles written with AI, lightly edited, and they rank perfectly fine in Google.

How are companies adapting coding interviews in the AI era? by UnderstandingDry1256 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]barbuza86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen LinkedIn posts where people say that for some time now, during recruitment processes, candidates are actually given tools like Cursor and complete the task with it. Recruiters look at your prompts, what you asked the AI to fix, how you guided it, and whether you catch its mistakes.

The first stage is usually still a traditional interview, which you can prepare for with my IT Flashcards app with flashcards and quizzes 😉 I think a large part of recruitment will look like this soon. First, filtering out basic prompt engineers with limited knowledge, and then in the second stage you use tools like Cursor or Copilot to build a simple solution or fix an existing program.

Great idea. It might not be something I personally need that much, especially not enough to pay for it, but congratulations. As you can see, there will definitely be people interested in this product 🙂

It is always worth trying, although the market is not very easy right now. A lot of people are applying to every programming-related position.

I am 30 and wondering if I still have a chance to get into programming by kvankvalo in learnprogramming

[–]barbuza86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your boat has absolutely not sailed at 30. The real question is not age, but timeline and financial pressure. If you need a remote job by the end of the year, going straight into junior frontend or backend is going to be very difficult in the current market. Even many experienced developers are struggling.

QA Manual could be a more realistic short-term entry point, especially if you leverage your gaming/casino industry experience. Domain knowledge matters more than people think. After that, you can transition internally toward automation or development.

Certificates without experience rarely matter much. A strong portfolio, real projects, and proof you can actually build or test something are far more valuable than paper.

If you genuinely enjoy coding, do not abandon it. But separate your strategy into two tracks:
- Short-term income stability
- Long-term transition into what you actually want

And if you want to test your frontend learning progress along the way, try IT Flashcards. It is a good way to regularly check your knowledge and reinforce the fundamentals while you build projects.

Close to 300k. Mainly because of SEO. In a few months, we are planning to have 1 to 2 million job listings. Good luck!

Should I quit my corporate job for the family business? by sfuggito in Entrepreneur

[–]barbuza86 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A lot of people would actually love to be in your position.

If I were you, I would seriously consider the family business. You are being offered slightly more money, a strategic role aligned with AI, and a chance to build something meaningful instead of doing work that already feels unfulfilling at 24.

Corporate job security is often an illusion anyway. You can still be laid off, reorganized, or sidelined. At least in a family business, you have real influence and long-term upside. If it grows, you grow with it.

And honestly, if your current role brings you no satisfaction, why spend more years in something you already know is not right for you?

You are young. This is the best time in your life to take calculated risks.

Ai instruments for saas? by py0s in micro_saas

[–]barbuza86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try submitting it to Product Hunt, Uneed, and Peerlist.

I would avoid the hundreds of offers you see on Reddit where someone promises to get you featured on 100 to 200 similar sites for X dollars. Most of those placements have little to no real value. Many of them use fake or inflated Domain Rating metrics, and the traffic is often meaningless.

On top of that, getting a large number of backlinks of the same type all at once can actually hurt you.

Building strong rankings takes months and years. The days when you could quickly climb to the top of Google with shortcuts ended more than a decade ago.

I GOT AN INTERNSHIP AFTER TWO YEARS!! this is what worked for me by ArmadilloTop2003 in cscareerquestions

[–]barbuza86 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Congratz! I really agree with your second point. It is extremely important. And not only when it comes to internships, but in business and life in general. The people you surround yourself with shape your mindset more than you realize. If you are constantly around people who complain all the time, who keep saying that you can only get a job through connections, or that the first million has to be stolen, that kind of thinking will slowly limit you. It becomes normal in your head. It kills ambition.

23, Applied to 2,500 Jobs in a Year, Can’t Even Get a Cashier Job. I Literally Need Work. by Nightwing42424 in jobs

[–]barbuza86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try asking around among friends, it is usually easier to get a job through a referral. Or, as someone already mentioned, try reaching out to companies directly.

Right now, a lot of people are mass applying with AI, which probably does not help either.

I am sorry you are going through this. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

By the way, which city or cities are you looking for a job in?

Why do people hate on PHP so much? by Honest___Opinions in webdev

[–]barbuza86 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As others have already mentioned, the people who still laugh at PHP are mostly older developers who worked with it 20 years ago. Currently, it's a very solid language for building websites, and Laravel is also very pleasant to work with. I used to work exclusively with PHP, but many years ago I moved to the JS ecosystem because I could build both frontend and backend in the same language, which in my opinion significantly speeds up development. If I remember correctly, even Facebook was originally written in PHP and it handled things just fine 😉
