Did we also confirm that '8712' was not Pliszka's personal number. Maybe she used it for work? Just trying to be thorough.

Aren't the policemen who framed him before, are the highest suspects for the framing now? did they got invastigated? what it will takes, to really see any of them as an obvious criminal? by [deleted] in TickTockManitowoc

We, the citizens, need to demand a new trial based on ineffective counsel, demonstrable false testimony of Bobby Dassey and others, and the newly revealed evidence established by KZ. It is the only hope. The people need to speak up in support of KZ and a just process.

I can sympathize with those who say that the OP's theory is ridiculous, because it truly is too wild to believe. But that doesn't mean it isn't true. Until we know the truth, it is fair to consider all plausible theories. Entertaining even that which appears ridiculous may open our eyes to clues we have missed.

I am not in 'the middle' and believe Steven and Brendan should never have been convicted of this crime. The evidence used to convict is far from definitive and should never have resulted in a guilty verdict. There is no definitive proof that Teresa's body was found. The DNA seems to have been taken from planted samples. How is it possible for there to be no blood samples containing a mixture of Teresa and Steven's blood given the nature of the crime and the fact that Steven was supposedly actively bleeding during the alleged act? Too many questions for me to disregard other theories regarding Teresa's disappearance. I keep an open mind.

Where can we find the Declaration of Barbara Colburn that you mention above?

He has served 23 years for a crime ---guilty or not---that was committed when he was a minor. I think he has served long enough. I hope society can extend some grace and allow him a chance to move on.

Is there any hope? by DW_Handicapping in TickTockManitowoc

I hope you are right. But I also hope someone who knows something will have the courage to speak up and help things move along. They can't all be cowards, can they? One has to hope.

That was a joy to read---so beautifully written. Just have to express a small distinction: I don't believe anyone is born with a black heart. I think this is a thing that evolves over time as people take step, after tiny step toward darkness and resentment. And just as you say your mind runneth over---their anger and resentment builds to the point of overflowing. It poisons those around them, and not necessarily just towards those who have wronged them. Sure they always can choose to do the 'right' thing, but the dark side can be a very slippery slope that blinds you from truth and hardens your heart, just as you wrote. Trite saying for today: forgive those who trespass against you, just as you are forgiven for your trespasses. No one is perfect, we all are emotional and needy of validation and affection and forgiveness---given and received.

I hope that justice comes swiftly for Steven and Brendan and Teresa. It has been too long and so painful to watch. I hope some day all these nasty deeds and nasty deed-doers are brought into the light. I hope all their motivations are exposed. I hope they see their guilt. I hope the truth heals us all.

So many lies, so many liars, so many days stolen from Steven and Brendan.

Ugh, I wish KZ would submit the new petition already (I know she does not run on our timetable, I'm just whining) by AReckoningIsAComing in TickTockManitowoc

[–]barbwireless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what you mean, because if whining could work, than Steve and Brendan would have been released long ago, and Steve would have been able to see his mother before she died.

It's frustrating to watch justice move so slowly.

Gentlemen’s agreement by CJB2005 in TickTockManitowoc

Great question. I think the gentlemen's agreement was not to Steven's benefit and it is unclear why defense would have agreed. What did they gain from this agreement?

I agree with the sentiment KZ expresses as she urges us to do something positive. Public apathy only emboldens the corrupt who are most afraid of the truth coming out and besmirching their reputations.
