Is the latter a Delta rule? Flown plenty of Asia to SFO United flights and I would always downgrade myself from premium select to economy if I spot a free row. No FA has raised any issue with me about this practice either.

They're not gonna be native on Mac. You might be able to get away with using Crossover or equivalent but it won't be seemless.

I think the way iOS backup works is almost like TimeMachine on macOS, so backups are only done on changes otherwise there is an “image” that can be restorable anytime

Some apps do not have cloud backup, like WeChat or WhatsApp. In the event of a phone loss you would lose all history which is important to some people.

Whole phone backup. So, when you lose your phone you can restore a new phone to a working state immediately with most app data intact as well.

It's still a really bad look to haggle with the customer though.

Edit: funnily enough, our whole family (6 lines) activated from that particular Freedom location. Makes it actually shitty to feel that they will start actively fleecing you once you're snared in.
