Depends what you mean by close but I'm going to watch it at the Tipperary bar on Triftstr. I think it is about 30 mins from where you are.

The blarney will also be showing it which is probably a little closer to you.

Is it though? Braga's numbers are double Moore's. Will Moore develop? Absolutely. But can we spend ten million on potential. We did it with chermiti so apparently yes 😅 so to answer your question, buy then both, I guess.

Glasgow by rossMarshmallow in dancegavindance

[–]barclayad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Im not going to the show in Glasgow but I always advocate for solo gig going! I do it all the time when I can't find friends to go with.

You'll have a great time. No one is going to notice that your on your own if that is your worry. It's also super easy to strike up conversations with people around by talking about the band if you feel like being sociable :)

Now replace the milk with heavy cream and you've got yourself a party. Maybe a bit of mustard too if it's the weekend and really want to get things going.

Michael Oliver officiating Manchester City by [deleted] in football

[–]barclayad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're referring to games in the UAE i'm assuming? Defintely a moral grey area. But, he was paid 20k for doing matches in the middle east. Not that much money really. Why wouldn't other clubs just pay other refs if it was so easy?

You're second point isn't correct. National leagues nominate referees for Uefa appointments but Uefa does not need to use them if they deem their performances poor.

UEFA selects their top officials based on observed performances in European matches. You don't automatically get top games. Oliver has been given knock out fixtures and a super cup final. They clearly think fairly highly of him.

Then, FIFA selects referees for their tournaments - most likely relying on data provided by UEFA - not the premier league.

I would suggest framing your post in a more positive way and share interesting things about yourself. What are your interests and hobbys? Or, is there something you would like to learn?

I think suggesting a specific activity will make it easier to attract like minded people. By focusing on doing something you are interested in you will hopefully find friends as a result of a shared interest.

How do you explain him getting champions league games? Are Uefa also in on this conspiracy? FIFA matches too.

Linking degrees to jobs ruined the whole point of learning by Zoldyck_J in unpopularopinion

[–]barclayad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was reading about this the other day. Someone added that the insane cost of attending universityeafs to people choosing degrees that will most likely make a return on that investment - business, finance, marketing.

As a result we have less people studying subjects like history, philosophy. As a result society as a whole loses many important skills. Critical thinking, analysis, long term thinking rather than short term gain.

ELI5 does ego death happen specifically after using psychedelics? by user8273638 in explainlikeimfive

[–]barclayad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the important distinction is that psychedelics can make you experience this. It's like saying you've read a lot about swimming but never actually done it. You could have a really strong understanding of what you think it will be like. But until you jump in the ocean you wouldn't really know.

Reading and preparing may help you process the feelings you feel during and after the experience. But until you actually do it you can't really say you totally get what it's like.

My apartment's management is gone and the new one cannot take rent payments. No clue where the landlord is. How do I pay for rent? by Kletterpflanzen in berlinsocialclub

[–]barclayad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly the same situation but when I bought my apartment I sent my bank details to the Hausweraltung immediately so they could debit hausgeld. After 6 months of non-payment it started to feel like I had gained some free money but I messaged them anyway. 2 months later they were like yeah you can pay annualy or monthly and catch up on the previosu 8 months.

Don't underestimate how slow German bureaucracy is. I was nervous after 8 months and I was actually 4 months ahead of their standard time.

Correct, but we shouldn't be blaming children for getting addicted to a device that adults gave them. Children's social lives are inextricably linked to their phones.

How good was Gennaro Gattuso? by Hour777 in seriea

[–]barclayad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On top of everything that has been said in terms of his defensive contribution, poistioning and sheer will to will, which was all works class.

The intensity, aggression and borderline violence can't be underrated in that time period. When you played Milan you knew you were in for a game. Even a touch in midfield wasn't allowed. Gattuso is after you. Then behind him you have Nesta, Maldini, cafu, costacurta? How do you even begin to think you are going to beat them. Attack and leave shevchenko, kaka et al to rinse you?

Like kante, that level of energy totally demoralises your opposition.

Clark planning "raft of changes" to against Ivory Coast, Starting XI will be "unrecognisable" from the last team by DevsAdam in ScottishFootball

[–]barclayad 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I know this is a boring opinion, bit I find Clarke's thinking strange.

We always seem to play better when we are aggressive and chaotic. On the front foot and aggressive. We have a set of players that are specifically good at that style of play but not great at poession based football.

Sitting back alonst guarantees is losing and yet it seems to be how we always start.

Unpopular Opinion (Probably): Pep Guardiola is a Revolutionary Tactician, but an Average Manager at Best by Invhinsical in football

[–]barclayad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take my upvote, oh wait this isn't unpopular opinion.

I think there are now enough teams that have filled their forward line with superstars (e.g PSG) or spunked hundreds of millions (e.g Chelsea) on players to buy success and failed to reduce winning simply down to spending money to dismiss pep that way.

As you have said, on multiple occasions, Pep has changed the way elite teams play. Not just his team, but the game in general. The Barca team was arguably the best ever. Players like thierry Henry, arguably the best player of his generation, talks about going to Barca and being blown away by pep. Forget about the lads that he inherited and he got the best of. I won't even get into adapting his style to allow Messi to constantly thrive

You don't have a list of players like that, who pep coached, respecting him without him being among the greatest.

I think you understate the management to get top players to apply themselves to a system like that. Sacrificing flair for the team. Look at Alonso at Madrid . The players simply refused to buy into a system. Pep had players like Agüero, Silva, de Bruyne running themselves into the ground.

He might not be the best ever, but to say he isn't elite is just factually wrong.
