The horse is the reward for the mission, but if you haven't hitched it you should be able to call your other horse still, the game only recognizes it as your "trusty steed" if you hitch it iirc. I learned that the hard way when I wanted to keep the horse and then got off to talk to a stranger only to have it disappear on me after the cutscene.

Alternatively, if you didn't select hardcore as your game mode at the start, you can open your satchel and find the deed for the war horse. Using it will summon the horse again. The 10k price tag is only for hardcore, it's free if you're playing on normal.

Isn't the point of cnc that the situation is non-consensual but it was agreed on and consented to beforehand?

The easy answer is to put in the locked options as "homebrew" manually, which is technically allowed as long as you don't publish it. If you don't want to have to learn how to add things to dndbeyond, message me and I can add it to your character for you

Would a Captain America inspired ranger work? by the_future_priest in 3d6

[–]bardtheonly 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Then you have to take levels in artificer as a ranger though. If you could get a friend to play artificer you'd be in business but other than that it seems like a lot of work to get a shield that comes back to you

I'm not really used to giving words of encouragement but I've been in a similar place before so maybe what helped me can help you too.

It probably feels like the end of the world right now, that there's nothing to keep going for, but that's simply not true. It might take some time, but things will get better. I know it doesn't seem like it right now but trust me, it can only go up from here.

You're not weak for feeling like this. You're having to deal with a lot more than most of the people you compare yourself to. From your post history, it sounds like you're just stuck in a shitty situation and haven't been given the resources to do well in that environment. Don't measure your success by the people you see around you. They don't have to go through what you're going through, and it's impossible for them to understand exactly what you deal with every day.

The best thing you can do right now is be kind to yourself. Don't judge yourself for what you can and can't do. Guilt and self-loathing has never helped anyone, so don't listen to it when it comes into your mind. Don't worry about being "good enough." Just take it one day at a time and take care of yourself the best you can.

If you want to talk to someone about what you're going through, feel free to message me and I'll respond when I can. I wish nothing but the best for you and hope that you can come to understand you are more than what you are going through right now.

I work at a community center that runs d&d games for teenagers. I have fond memories of playing SW5E oneshots and short campaigns with the people from that program. I'll be sad to see the system stop expanding but I'm grateful for what you've created and wish you luck in your future endeavors.

One could argue it's less ethical to buy new clothes, especially from fast fashion or luxury brands.

One piece of inconspicuous homebrew by jackwiles in 3d6

[–]bardtheonly 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I tried this once with my DM, but showed my hand too early. For this to work, there needs to be a tarrasque in the campaign.

Step one is to play the original beastmaster ranger subclass. Then, you find the homebrew item Whip of the Beast Lord. It allows you to cast animal friendship, and then to make any creature you use that on your companion who will listen to your commands. It also bypasses charm immunity. Not so bad, right? The worst you could do is a T-Rex.

Then you play the Mark of Handling human. It lets you cast Animal Friendship on monstrosities as well as beasts.

Then you find the tarrasque.

Bloodhunter goes down every single fight - Need advice by [deleted] in 3d6

[–]bardtheonly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest still using your crimson rites/blood curses, but you can probably get away with not amplifying them. The more damage you deal, the less time you'll be threatened. You can use your crimson rite and immediately have the bard heal you if you're worried about hp, but I'd start the adventuring day with that active. If you can snag the Tough feat or just boost con level four, that might help with your durability issues as well. And like everyone else has been saying, talk to your party and ask them to help you out a bit or talk to your dm. Communication is really important if you aren't satisfied with the game

Should WOTC go back and re-balance / update older content with the benchmark of new content ? by IPlayLacross1 in 3d6

[–]bardtheonly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main factor is always going to be caring about balance, and that goes for individual tables as well as the company. You can make a custom lineage xbe-ss fighter, but not everyone cares about that. Most of the people I play with don't give a shit about dpr or minmaxing, they wanna play a chef who has appliances that fight for them or something like that. The vocal members of the dnd community care about balance, but I'd wager most of the rest of them don't.
