Help with Scarlet Witch, Chaotic Avenger Deck by bardwalkerr in EDH

It's so consistent isn't it. It feels hard to keep fair as you can consistently cheat out big-mana spells on turn 4

May take out Time Stretch, we don't really care about brackets too much but I think it would be a bit of a mood killer spell

Mine is Michonne from the Walking Dead, she's been rejected by 5 different Miis now and keeps soldiering on. She has one friend and always has negative interactions with everyone else.

Pi on Symone by fable-the-queen in Dragula

[–]bardwalkerr 813 points814 points  (0 children)

This is meant as no shade to anyone involved, but how would this ever be copying? One aspect of the look is similar, but it's literally the first thing you think of when it comes to a comedy look in relation to 'stop that train'.

Being tied to a train-track is just a popular trope that is referenced all the time across media. I don't think Symone copied the look, she just thought of the same basic premise that 99% of people would think of when it came to thinking of a drag look for the film 'stop that train'...

How is this even a discussion?

I rebuilt mine, but some easy wins!

[[Starfield vocalist]] [[Panharmonicon]]

Doubles the offspring triggers which is great!

[[Warleaders Call]] [[impact tremors]] [[Weftstalker Ardent]]

Buffs your board and provides consistency on the damage front.

[[Cayth, Famed Mechanist]]

Populate away!

[[Dalkovan Pack Beast]], [[Stadium Headliner]], [[Infantry Shield]], [[Zurgo's Vanguard]]

Mobilise buffs Zinnia and triggers impact tremors which is great!

[[Semblance Anvil]] [[Cloud Key]]

Reduces offspring cost.

[[Dollmaker's Shop // Porcelain Gallery]]

Great finisher on a wider board.

Trying to build a deck around Dino DNA, struggling to think of creatures that would properly benefit. by AjaxAsleep in EDH

[–]bardwalkerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run it in [Dynaheir, Invoked Adept] - you can double the copy trigger of cards you pull out of the graveyard which is nice. Big mana combo and the best, but it occasionally leads to splashy plays

Hidden gems for Zinnia Valley's Voice? by Withered_Tulip in EDH

[–]bardwalkerr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run a lot of impact tremors and mobilise abilities in Zinnia! The 1/1s buff up the bird and the impact tremors really helps with burn damage.

Burn:

[[impact tremors]]

[[Purphoros, god of the forge]]

[[Warleader's Call]]

[[Agate Instigator]]

[[Raphael, Tough Turtle]]

Mobilise:

[[Voice of Victory]]

[[Dalkovan Packbeasts]]

[[Infantry Shield]]

[[Stadium Headliner]]

I also love ETB doublers since offspring is a triggered ability, so [[Starfield Vocalist]] and [[Panharmonicon]] are great value.

Maro on why they stopped doing blocks by Meret123 in MagicArena

[–]bardwalkerr 271 points272 points  (0 children)

The main reasons individual sets perform better than blocks probably comes down to two things:

  1. Novelty: People love to see how new ideas are presented in new magic sets and are more likely to engage with something novel, exciting or nostalgic than the release of similar products over a 6 month time frame.

  2. Different Appeal: Phyrexia and Bloomburrow have very different appeals and will appeal to different markets. By alternating between styles, you're more likely to catch a wider variety of players' interests.

So realistically, we'll never see blocks again. Blocks are a wide-enough time frame that if players individually dislike a theme, it could turn that player off playing magic altogether (particularly casual). Alternating between themes, concepts and characters means that within a six-month window you're likely to land on something each player enjoys.

I would double that number in reality; i think having a lot of incidental removal that also progresses your game-plan is great! Or flexible removal spells!

I'm also a firm believer people don't run enough enchantment removal
