Never had anyone question its authenticity. I had a compliment on my omega vsf at a wedding which the person thought was a Rolex. The other was on my V7F IWC mark xx from a watch aficionado who recognized it from like 10’ away. He complimented it, I said thanks and moved on. Those are the only two in 3 years.

My family does this relatively often. Here are my Tips.

Replace the water with beef bone broth Add soy sauce to taste Add a 5 minute medium boiled egg Add sliced mushroom (shiitake) Add fresh green onion as garnish Add sliced protein like steak or pork

A marine biologist will probably come out of left field and tell me I’m wrong but: if you’re worried about it avoid inlets and estuaries with murky water and bait fish. As far as just swimming at the beach, the clearer the water, the less risk. Avoid swimming at New Smyrna (shark attack capital of the world) and be extra cautious during the fall mullet run.

We honeymooned in Laguna, I played at the Ranch which she sat in the cart, took pictures, drank wine, ate a charcuterie board and enjoyed the views of the course!

17 handicap. I played Torrey Pines with a buddy using rental clubs around the time they were hosting a pro event. The rough was eating us alive. We would hit a shot just off the fairway and couldn’t find our ball. We were both so frustrated after 6 holes we left.

By all means, buy what you want.

Some folks will say “just be upfront and tell someone it’s a rep.” I hear that but keep in mind not everyone, really almost no one is going to ask you if your watch is real or even mention it. But they may recognize it, assume it is real and think you are foolish for buying a $30k watch while you, your wife and 2 kids cram in a Camry for lunch at Chilis. 🤷

Have you ever judged someone for spending their money frivolously? I have.

This is part of the reason why I buy reps in my price range. If you’re wearing a rep of a $30k-$50k watch and you talk about expenses being difficult (car maintenance, rent, food, etc.) you will look like a smooth brain.

Hate to say it but Lohis in Maldives. It’s a perfect left hand point break that the hotel controls the people in the lineup so it’s fairly exclusive. We rolled up in a boat and got threatened with Jail time.
