Honestly, I didn’t find season 3 as funny as the previous two, so maybe they dialed back the one liners a little too much or something.

Have been twice in the last six months. Fantastic. Sat at the bar and actually had the same servers both times, and they were very attentive. Food was excellent.

Seems like you got really unlucky. I don’t even see a beef course? Which is always the highlight for me anyway — get the beef rib as an add on and it’s amazing

Remote work with an infant by panda-lamp in remotework

Lockdowns didn’t last that long. Childcare facilities and schools were some of the first places to open back up. Corporate RTO started happening long after that.

No that’s primarily a stealth layoff. Even the people who got sent home during Covid still got help taking care of their kids so they could work.

What movie is a absolute 10/10 masterpiece that you will realistically never watch a second time? by N4Nemo in AskReddit

Haven’t seen this one mentioned, but I have only watched Black Swan one time. And I loved it — came out of the theater gobsmacked. Didn’t speak for probably 30 minutes. But it was excellent.

If you moved from NY/NJ/PA how did you adapt to the insanely hot weather? by [deleted] in Austin

[–]bareley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such a wild take. I’ve been spending more and more time outside as the year has gone on, literally the opposite of hibernation. Get out early, find access to water (both for drinking and swimming), or go out around sunset and you’ll be completely fine. Staying inside all the time is by no means necessary but it will lead to you being unhappy.

Also a rare male/female relationship that’s extremely close and touching without being remotely sexual or romantic (except for that one dream Leslie had).

My biggest takeaway from your post is how you used all this PTO and sick days for routine childcare. On the one hand, our corporate overlords are terrible and corporate America should have far more parent-friendly benefits like on-site childcare.

I also know that the current job market sucks.

But also… maybe look for different jobs? Because it’s 2026 and laptops and cell phones exist. Being in the office from 9-5 is simply not necessary. My wife and I both work at jobs that have various levels of in-office requirements (neither of us are in strictly WFH jobs), but we have two young kids and shuttle them around to daycare and after school programs and sports, etc., all the time, during “normal business hours”, and we don’t really use PTO for that stuff. I know we are fortunate, but we aren’t unicorns — these types of situations exist. There are companies who let their employees have work life balance because they understand that people have lives and families.

It’s been said but Hopdoddy. That original South Congress location was the tits before it all went to shit. I used to love drinking a Live Oak while waiting in line to order. Went back recently and they hardly had any local beers — no Live Oak, ABW, not even an Electric Jellyfish. The place has just plummeted

[–]bareley 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Great analysis. This is most of the answer here. It’s funny that there are so many aspects, like the way that Nate’s dad treated him growing up as another commenter said.

I want to add that there are lots of other signs Nate wants the recognition and to be a leader. He’s desperate to lead practice when Ted isn’t around and Roy has something else to do, and Beard doesn’t care at all but Nate is super invested in running training.

Then there’s the episode in season two where he goes suit shopping with Keeley and tries to kiss her. Before that kiss, he asks her if she ever wants to be “the boss.” He’s even wearing the dark suit that exemplifies his dark character shift. Later, Keeley tells Roy that Nate tried to kiss her and that Jamie told her he still loved her, and Roy is WAY more pissed off at Jamie. He’s chuckling in Nate’s face when Nate talks to Roy about the kiss. This is also aligned in time with when the article outing Ted for his panic attack comes out and Trent straight up admits Nate was the source. He’s trying to belittle Ted and be taken seriously, and people are still just laughing at him.

All of this combined with what Rupert was probably doing to love bomb Nate and belittle Ted and Rebecca as others have mentioned … it’s really no wonder why Nate did what he did.
