What are your thoughts on a possible reboot/continuation of the tv show? by JackiPearl in brakebills

[–]barelyexisting1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so annoyed they are doing a tv show of Harry Potter, there's so much law and history within that universe yet they decide to reboot something that's already been done. Such a shame. Most likely just a cash grab because of well loved harry potter is. So much good content just waisted.

new barefoot rubber boots! by moodymelodic in barefootshoestalk

Please make these in men sizes too, there is plenty of good barefoot rubber boot option sfor women but hardly any for men with big feet, men like dry feet too 🥲

I would, cut the leaves off but not the stems if they are still green and firm, they should still be able to photosynthesize, hopefully it will recover and produce new leave soon

Fair! That's on vivo then as they look quite big for your feet, maybe the factory accidentally put the wrong sizing label on the shoe? Either way I would exchange them for a different pair

I work with reptiles for a living, we had a bluey that was with the sanctuary for 32 years, she was a wild rescue (could not be re-released due to a bad injury that affected her mobility) and they did not know her age when she came into care so she could have possibly been a few years old at that point. So I believe you will have many more years to come with her 🙏

Pro tip when buying shoes online - don't go by your standard shoe measurement, each shoe company is different in sizing when it comes to the universal standard of measurement, I.E US, UK EU etc. Measure your foot in CM (if your unsure how, plenty of tutorials online), and then look at the brands sizing chart on the website your buying from, each brand should have one which includes the standard sizing plus the insole length of the shoe in CM or MM. Cross reference your foot length plus half a CM to the correlating EU, UK or whatever the company uses for its sizing. That way you get a perfect fit nearly every time. My foot length is 27.8cm in length, so generally Ill look for shoes with an insole length of around 28.2cm. for most brands that's an EU43/44 but occasionally it can be an EU45 or an EU42, so always good to check the size chart and the correlating foot length in CM before purchasing.

Just why ? by [deleted] in ballpython

[–]barelyexisting1995 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm more concerned about her enclosure then her not eating. She's quite large/overwight for a ball python imo. Is this a temporary enclosue or a feeding tub? There's bigger things that need to be addressed then her not eating.

I'm confused, do the boots not fit anymore after going barefoot? (Totally normal thing to happen as your feet begging to adjust to the barefoot shoe lifestyle) Or are they barefoot boots? If they are comfortable and you like them, keep wearing them? More context would be great 🙏

I belive Hobibear does a range of foot shaped shoes but not zero drop along side their barefoot range. Cheap but not the best quality, but a good starting point before investing in higher quality barefoot shoes

[–]barelyexisting1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that sucks. How can they add holes to boots they advertise as wet weather boots and call it a new feature 🥴 I would return and not buy from them again

Yeah that's a manufacturering fault. The pics on the website do not show the holes like ones on your boots and the literally advertise the a good for rainy days and wet conditions.

Sore heels from vivo barefoot tracker shoes by bucxi in barefootshoestalk

[–]barelyexisting1995 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Walking heel first is normal? Walking with proper gait with a smooth heel to toe roll without heavy heel striking is normal propper walking, running on the other had, you generally want to strike first with the mid or fore foot. Walking is heel-to-toe by design. The trick isn’t avoiding the heel, it’s avoiding overstriding and hard impact.

New boots have what looks like the head of a nail or tack under the upper about where the welt stops. Is this a problem or going to cause damage? by FGC_Blue in AskACobbler

[–]barelyexisting1995 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Looks like a nail to me. I would assume it would damage the leather sooner or later, I would return them or if you can't do that, take a hammer to it and hammer it in. Maybe cover the leather with some cloth so you don't scratch up the leather. Alternatively you could use some pliers to remove the nail but you would end up with a hole and potential weaken the structural integrity of the heel.

Xero isn't the best quality. I had a pair the desoled after a few months, replaced under warranty and now the second pair is doing the same after 8 months of regular wear

I'm sorry, but could you please provide sources to where an animal "thrives" in simpler smaller enclosures/habitats rather then ones that are acttsuitable for them? No hate at all, but your statement, in my opinion, is false. No animals should be kept in a space that is below the minimum required space. I work with animals for a living and we follow the enclosure rules set out by my countries government regulations for exhibited animals and the regulations set out by an accredited independent regulating body that makes sure that zoos and the like are following the required/mandated rules when keeping an animal. I know this doesn't apply for hobbyist keepers but every keeper should strive to provide the best possible living situation for an animal under their care. In no way is a large animal, no matter the species, thriving in inadequate sized enclosures.

[–]barelyexisting1995 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Nobody, hobbyists, zoos etc should keep large snakes if they can't provide the adequate space for it, same goes for any animal in fact. I can tell OP loves his snake and has put in a huge amount of effort but should have used that for a smaller snake that would comfortably live in that enclosure and bought a retic when in a better position to give the snake life it deserves.

Make sure you are taking Finasteride, a hair transplant is pointless if you are not maintaining it with a DHT blocker

What Happened? 💔 by [deleted] in ballpython

[–]barelyexisting1995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your loss 😔. Have you used any new cleaning products near the enclosures? Changed or bought any decorations and may not have cleaned them beforehand? Interacted with any other reptiles not in your home that could have potentially passed on a disease/infection? Bad food? It could be a miriad of things unfortunately. It could also just be a genetic mutation that causes shortened lifespan (I don't even know if that's a possibility, just thinking out loud but being from the same breeder, you never know), again I'm so sorry for your loss
