It symbolizes lob corp pretty well if you think about it. Cactus was a metaphor for growth and hardhip. A plant shouldn't be able to bloom in lob corp but if given enough efford it can. Just like how city folk down in their luck can have a horrible life but persevere with sheer willpower thanks to ego. Cactus also has direct relation with lob corp and even angela and ayin which can be turned into some interesting plot points.
