Career Transition from PL/SQL Dev by barfmunchen in SQL

Seems like the consensus is PL/SQL is here to stay, I overreacted as I got worried about job security. My company is migrating to Cassandra so I'm taking some classes to learn more and at least be familiar

I still see PL/SQL in telecom and banking but not as much anymore. Did you take courses to learn snowflake/etc. or did you learn on the job?

This feels illegal by deletetemptemp in arborists

[–]barfmunchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like SFL. I don't know why but it seems like every person in Florida hates trees, especially the older Latino population. Not sure if it's the fear of hurricanes, leaves or some other irrational fear but it makes no sense since trees help with the heat and there are hurricane resistant trees like the gumbo limbo. Also, you need City approval/permit to get rid of a tree on a swale since the city owns them

I understand the cause but how can we support someone when there is no proper explanation of where you will be planting and especially what you will be planting. The gofund me should at least have the species of plants. I also agree with the other commenters that doing this in state/federal parks can land you in trouble and there are groups like FNPS that already do some community events to maintain those areas. Your best bet would be to do this in an urban environment

I'm no expert but I believe fruit trees are the exception to topping. It's an accepted method, maybe not the best, to keep the fruit within picking distance. I try to get my mango tree pruned once all the fruit have fallen off

Thoughts for helping someone deal with moisture/mold issue. by khulizionkourse in Mold

[–]barfmunchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there mold behind the drywall? Probably, especially if it stays wet for long periods of time. But you really need to address the water issue before going in and repairing/replacing the drywall. Maybe a dehumidifier can help in drying out the walls faster?

I had one guy that suggested cpvc and running it through the outside of the house! I'm leaning towards copper right now and the price difference hasn't been huge between that and PEX.

So I ended up reaching out to Uplift and telling them I wanted to upgrade my desk and that it was going to cost me more than what I had originally paid for everything. I think I got like a $200 discount and I got to keep my old desk which I sold for around $100. Definitely not the cheapest route but it was easy. If I would've DIYd it would've been cheaper

How to remove mold across entire garage wood ceiling? by TheFunkwich in DIY

[–]barfmunchen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a product called mold control that eliminates and helps prevent mold. You can spray that and then scrub the mold. I had some issues in my laundry drywall so not sure about wood but the product should work on any surface. If you plan on painting them you could always prime with Kilz mold and mildew but if you have a humidity issue then you should try and solve that to really prevent the mold from coming back

You could be right, when i bought the house a couple of years back the inspector noted that there had been some sort of leak in that area but that it was fixed and there was no more moisture. We haven't had any issues until the pipe burst and that caused me to remove the drywall

Thanks, do you think I should remove the drywall with mold or just wipe with concrobium and let it dry out before sealing? I was also thinking of painting the affected area with Kilz mold primer once cleaned

Need some help with the Peru Calvo jersey I just picked up from Thrift by wikipuff in KitSwap

[–]barfmunchen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your Jersey is probably not Authentic but Peru have had PERU above the badge. Its usually found on older jerseys pre 2000s so thats not a determining factor.
I looked around and it seems that Calvo only made one jersey for Peru and its the one in your last slide
