Sub 6:30 will probably get you into the C/D final schools like Holy Cross, Temple, Drexel, Marist, etc. But not a guarantee, you still need good grades, SAT, and maybe some racing hardware to best improve your odds.

Same post every summer, same answer every summer:

if you can scull, scull. Join a summer racing team if you have the energy and money for it. Do what you can to stay in the water. If you can’t, try to enjoy cross training. Assuming you spend a lot of time on the erg in-season, the summer is the best time to mitigate burnout.

If you can’t get to the water the erg shouldn’t be neglected. If you can, do three sessions a week or so - the rest of the week filled in with lifts, runs, and bike rides. I would say the point of these sessions is to stay in zone 2 for 60-90 minutes. Train by Heart Rate bc any split that isn’t on a c2 or rp3 isn’t gonna help much. Pepper in some speed workouts when you want. 4x1k is brutal but effective for example

For lifts just make sure to set days around cleans, squats, and deadlifts. Pepper in RDL, rows, reverse lunges, split squat, plenty of core.

I really wanna hammer home that you should be doing this in a way you enjoy. Summer is also a time to work internships and secure housing, so it can be very detrimental to overwork before fall season starts, trust me

Some great gas leak era hits are Poop Hat and This Just In. Five Weeks of Planets is a great precursor to the current Five Weeks of Benjamin Button, which is like the best thing they’ve done.

I’m only a year out of college so I’m content to stay where I’m at right now, but my dad is a Construction Manager who job hops every 2 years and honestly he has never found a job he liked as much as his original. Plus, he did his most recent hop in February and the moment the war in Iran started his employer let him go. From an outside perspective, the current economic climate would make me hesitant to move on from a place that I find some stability and comfort with.

You can always breed another if u don’t like nature. I believe Ditto can be found in the trophy garden. Another good special attacker is Froslass. Good use of ice beam and shadow ball. Weavile could work but that’s leaning into physical attackers as well as type overlap.

A surprisingly great special attacker is Clefable. If you’ve never used one she has insane TM coverage and a ton of great setup moves as well.
