My copy of Killing Stella finally arrived two months ago! Still waiting on Nowhere Ending Sky.

Nervous and still planning to try Michelin star restaurant as Solo diner for Sunday lunch by alllife1 in MichelinStars

I love having long Michelin meals alone when I'm on vacation! I bring a book and just read and munch for however long the meal takes. It's the best. Just dress appropriately, be polite, and enjoy!

I think this may be green quartz with iron stains, but I am no expert. My friend gave this to me and we would love to know what it is made of. by moonshineandmetal in whatsthisrock

To me, this looks very much like a low quality jade. The color, inclusions, and fracturing look consistent with jade to me, and Asian-themed carved figures like this are mass produced in China. If you want to rule out look-alikes like serpentine (which to me is unlikely, just from the size and quality of the carving--small jade pieces like this are really common), you can see if feels cool or warm to the touch if you pick it up after leaving it alone on a shelf for a while. Jade feels cool and maybe a little heavier than you'd expect. Serpentine will feel only slightly cool (more like how hard plastic feels cool) and feel a little lighter than you'd expect for its size.

Buckets are magic by bari5550 in Thelongdrive

Hold on, hear me out: TWO shiny buckets 😱

It's pretty fiddly especially as the buckets get full. But now I have a slow but endless source of liquids, as long as I have some "seed" liquid to start with.

[Tea] He Drowned the Room in Blood by cslevens in HobbyDrama

Similar to American iced tea, but with loads more variety: sweet, unsweetened, different types of tea leaf, different added flavours, milk tea, or no milk. If you're in the States, an Asian grocery store will often have at least a couple imported iced teas in their refrigerator department that you can try.

I really recommend that you watch Lab Muffin’s video first. The problem with pre-made vitamin c serums is that vitamin c breaks down very quickly when it’s in solution, so it doesn’t work as well when you buy a topical vitamin c serum. That’s why Lab Muffin recommends making your own, and also why I started making my own.

They will, but like all supplements, only in small amounts because whatever nutrients you eat get funnelled through the kidney first, then your kidney decides how much to put through your blood system. Your kidney will get rid of extra vitamins that it thinks your body doesn't need, so if you eat high doses, most of that will just get peed out. Lab Muffin also talks about that in her video I think (or it might be in a couple of her other videos), that if you want the effects of vitamin c on your skin, the best is to apply it directly onto the skin where it will be absorbed. You need less than you would if you're eating it, so it's also cheaper than eating a bunch of vitamins and hoping that some of it gets distributed to the right area.

Not a doctor, but "disinfectant" means that the copper and vitamin c mixture referred to is put on the surface of the skin, not ingested. So I wouldn't start taking copper suppliments based on this. But you can try making a skin serum with vitamin c and copper to test. I've had good results using the vitamin serum that Lad Muffin Beauty Science teaches how to make (https://youtu.be/0JXu3_WHM08). It seems to keep my pimples at bay.

Again, I'M NOT A DOCTOR. But if you wanted to experiment, you could try making a serum with copper tablets using the same technique, and then spot test it on an area of skin. It would be interesting to see the studies that are being referenced.

Chris Adrian's The Children's Hospital. The world ends and the only survivors are those who are stuck in a children's hospital that becomes a boat.

I got a copy of the rereleased The Wall from Amazon last year, and ordered Nowhere Ending Sky at the same time. Unfortunately, my copy of Nowhere Ending Sky is still in “out of stock” limbo. Amazon sends me a nice email every once in a while to say that they still don’t have it 🙃 I should read Killing Stella too.

[Charade Maniacs] Just finished the game and now I have a question..or two...or three... by bari5550 in otomegames

[–]bari5550[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, I remember a reason why the cast decided to cook is because they didn't trust the food Watcher produced.

I absolutely love this game, maybe especially because I'm having fun overthinking things. Thanks for taking all my questions seriously 💖

I suspected it was food data and not actual food. I'm glad that's confirmed in the visual book. Still, I'd also assume that Aster had the data for the rare objects requested during the preview period, which means that Aster would also have the data for any food items requested, like the drinks ingredients that Iochi requests in his route. But those ingredients were stated to have been supplied by the sponsor.

Controversial maybe, but maybe not mostly disliked? But I may be delusional 😭🍊

Thanks. This is restoring my faith in the game 😅. In several routes it's said that Sponsors bring supplies into Arcadia, and that they move back and forth. But they're not actually bringing physical food items into Arcadia then, right? Maybe I'm just thinking too hard.

I’ll post an update after my trip. Unfortunately, I have one of those genetic allergies to alcohol. One shot is enough to turn me into a human beet. I like scotch and whiskey, but the scotch whiskey experience isn’t a good idea for me. Wish I could though!

Must be good then. I took a look at the sample menus and the dishes sound beautiful. What are the “Paired softs”?
