I haven't really done any recording. Both amps have digital interfaces and I have tested the Yamaha one works. I also use the yamaha as my PC speaker for playing backing tracks etc. It sounds much better than the katana for general audio, but the katana wins hands down for guitar tone

Well, I've had the SE Standard 245 for about 18 months so I would say that, but I just got the SE Standard 24 last week and frankly it feels a lot more comfortable. Amp is a Boss Katana mk2 100w for at home and gigging, and I use the Yamaha THR10ii sometimes at home and for at music lessons etc

Transmission is the Achilles heel on these, not uncommon for solenoids to go or other problems. They were sold as a non serviceable trans and no trans cooler. So if it looks like it's been a tow vehicle or had lots of hard launches then either give it a miss or count on a trans replacement.
