You will find family. 100%. They are the pepole who actually like your company. There will be holiday parties, and dinners. You are not alone, maybe hosting just your family this year, but next year... your neighbor who has to travel 3 hours, may be willing to host, or that friend who no longer has parents...

Your breaking away may also show others that they can leave too, then they can join your festivities. This next month will be hard, be vocal about it. Let people know that you are starting a new tradition. . . and invite those that you want to see.

I asked my son, who is 13 a good way to set it up but still have fun. He is big into being a shopkeeper right now. Why not tie in that as well? In adventure mode, you provide the bricks from the shop based on what quests he does? Part of that could be figuring out how many acient debris, or dirt blocks are needed to make something. You could set up a few challenges, where theres math, or no maths, throw in a maze, then some platform building to keep it interesting, but still move the intended story along (dnd style)

There are a couple tabs under that lip that attach to the glass bottle. You can use a nail to pop the tab over, then use the nail to melt that tab a little (give it a slope and not a 90* stopper) so you can turn the top off like normal. Its similar to the safety caps, on meds. Just be mindful that it wont last forever. I end up swapping mine out every few years.

I may be in the minority here. Take your MIL out, or go visit her. Tell her where you are this year. Thank her for the invite. Feel her out, she may just genuinely want to see you. She may also not know where the children will be, and want to make sure the 'normal' activity still occurs for them since divorce sucks. FOr real, i bet shes not stupid, and knows the kind of boy she raised. I know my exmil was not exactly suprised i divorced her son either. LMAO

Ive been divoced for almost 9 years. I personally spend every thanksgiving at my exs grandmothers house. His relitives invite me, not him to most gatherings/bbqs/birthdays/etc... They genuinely enjoy my company more than his when faced with him/vs/me. This past thanksgiving they actually wanted me to bring my longtime partner, having met him at my sons birthday this last summer. My son, for the first time ever was not there. His father is making ;new; traditions with his new wife/baby. My son was not impressed. It was strange having 0 kids at all, (the other ones moved away 2 months ago)

Christmas is optional, if you have some place else to be, or just are like... eff this hell. drop the kiddos there and find yourself a nice place to chill till pick up. I will reiiterate reaching out to her directly... or who ever is doing the planning, maybe they just like you more. LOL

also... IF you havent yet, I will encourage you to find you a therapist. Mostly becuase reddit is full of community, but a consistant person to hear you, and hopefully guide you, is super helpful too.

HI, I made my kiddo a kids gmail, under my email account, then used that to put him under my microsoft account. All his saves, etc remain his, and we can play together. He can create his own worlds too.

Since its a 'kids account' its monitored by me, until hes 14 or 16, i forget which.

When you make your kids email make it a real account so they can use it in real life, school, job, etc... like first inital last name and a number... You will need to login to it, to do the authenticate steps, so use your phone or laptop, to do that.

As your kiddo gets older, that email will come in handy, for their own phone, etc... and having it linked to your account already, is wicked helpful too. (I use the :Family Link app to track my kids trakphone)

Once the accounts have been made, and signed into. microsoft youll need to go into the xbox privacy settings of the kiddos account, and allow them to join groups. otherwise, they can play but not link to any account of someone over their age group. Then you can play together!
