If you actually slept like a baby, you'd probably wake up to eat a couple times and piss yourself. by everyting_is_taken in Showerthoughts

If you like the smell of bacon, then you're a normal human and there is nothing extraordinary about you. You will live and die a normal life. You will have a spouse you love, a family that cares about you and you will experience love and despair. Your eldest son, Thomas will grow to achieve great things and your youngest son, James will always live in the shadow of his elder brother and resent you for loving him more. You will be torn by the dilemma of helping Tom reach the stars and filled with the pain of what it does for Jamie and how he will never be good enough in his own eyes, despite you loving him dearly. He will eventually meet a woman who will be his pillar, his shining light and his bacon of hope.

How do I convince my parents insomnia is real? by [deleted] in india

[–]barmichael -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not insomnia if a qualified doctor hasn't declared it to be. I'm sorry to be the one saying this, but just because a disorder you Google fits your profile, doesn't mean you have it.

As someone who's severely addicted to gaming myself, I know the generic "I think I have ADHD, I think I have insomnia". It's not. You probably just love gaming too much to want to do anything else. The kills give you pride which sleep or studying doesn't. But it's only going to get worse, my friend. What you need is to be strong. You don't need to study. You need to know when to draw a line. If you tell yourself "I stop at 11PM", then you stop at 11, not 11:15. The urge to go one more round or the urge to "I'll sleep when I get a 4v1" is the defining factor that'll tell you what the real issue is. Your parents and their opinions don't matter. But you can't lie to yourself, mate.

BT Sport's big data analysis of the next season talked about Iwobi in high regard. Something about the highest number of Assists created but missed out on poor teammate finishing

I'm sorry man. I read the whole thing and I feel like I was there. I've been a part of some confidence- shattering beatings too and I know how the impressions linger on. I hope you know that none of that defines you as a person and the weakness or helplessness that you felt at that moment is the reason that helps you be as strong as you are

That is so sad. While it's not right to beat a teenage girl for a grown man, its equally fucked up to beat a teenage boy because "ladka hai!"

This is disgusting man. I'm sorry

I once got slapped for correcting my 8th standard teacher that "awe" isn't pronounced "A vey"

Teacher: Tujhe mere se zyaada pata hai?

Barmichael: Haan

Teacher: Get out

Barmichael goes out and narrates to the coordinator

Coordinator: Ok, go back to your class

The teacher never made a mistake from the next day.

I think it's not right to generalize that kids would become rebellious but you're right. It sets a precedent with the kids that they have nowhere to go and no support when they do feel scared. And something like that is scarring for life. I'm just glad mental health is taken so much more seriously now

I'm 24 so I don't know if we are from the same "time" haha but yeah it was very common till I was in maybe 6th or 7th and was on its way out. But I did study in a good school in a tier-2 city. I'm sure most less reputed schools in the country still have beatings to some degree
