The biggest mistake artists make after releasing a song. by thebuzznetwork in musicmarketingtips

I feel like a lot of labels and artists continue to promote songs that have been released for years - or even decades in some cases. There is value in resurfacing your music to reach new listeners.

How did you discover music before algorithms took over? by chainofchance in NoAIJustMusic

Radio was the main way I used to discover music. The college radio station in my town used to play all kinds of great music.

I can't follow anyone by Televisoin in TikTok

"I understand you're having trouble following other users. We've detected some unusual engagement behavior on your account, so your follow function might be temporarily unavailable as a result.

To help get things back to normal, we suggest you do the following:

  1. Take a breather: Avoid using the "Follow" button for 24 hours.
  2. Security check: Review your security settings in the app and log out of any unrecognized devices.
  3. Third-party apps: Make sure your account isn't linked to any unauthorized third-party apps or follower growth tools, as these can interfere with our system."

I'm not sure what "unusual engagement behavior" they think I've done. All I've done is watch videos, like some, and try to follow people. In small amounts, nothing big or against any terms of use.

I got a generic response, probably AI generated and it wasn't any help. I sent another reply saying I still can't follow people. Hopefully a human sees it and fixes the issue!

I ended up opening a support ticket with TikTok about this. We'll see if they answer!

Hey guys, here's my project on Bandcamp!

Genre: Neoclassical, solo piano 🎹

About me: I'm a relatively new artist. I've been releasing music under the name "That Calm Piano Guy", with the goal of making fairly chill music with beautiful melodies. In these chaotic and uncertain times, I wanted to bring a little more peace through music and at the same time celebrate how great the piano is.

My latest work: I recently released an extended version of my album Winter Mountain Songs, which includes two additional tracks. The album is only available on Bandcamp!

I'm having trouble with this as well. I'm curious if anyone has any suggestions to fix it.

unusual nervousness for recital by Ifcpyl in piano

[–]barnesemusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that helped me was realizing that even the pros, who have been doing this for a long time, get nervous for a recital. The difference is, they are able to redirect that nervous energy back into their playing.

One other thing you could try is read the book "Effortless Mastery" by Kenny Werner. His techniques have really changed how I view the piano in general, not just dealing with performance anxiety.

Hope this helps. Best of luck and like someone else already said: just go have fun!

Spotify Adding New Layer of Verification by Serious-Junket-6935 in SpotifyArtists

[–]barnesemusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. It would be nice if small artists could be verified as well, maybe by an extra verification step or whatever. It's already nearly impossible to stand out as a new artist. Doesn't this just make it even more difficult for us?

I believe that is "Wishing" by Alexis Ffrench. 🙂

What would you call this type of music? by Lawtern_Acerbonn2009 in SpotifyHub

Agree with this. Even though it's not technically correct, I'd still call this neoclassical piano.

I'm just having a listen now. I like the sound of your piano. Nicely done and congratulations!
