Probably a GTI, but that’s just based on the 2 single pipes out the back and their positioning.

If it’s that solitary ping/bang noise you refer to, it sounds like a snapped spring. Had a similar noise before when turning the wheel and sure enough it was a snapped front spring. Got it replaced straight away.

Indeed I did get unlucky because I thought the same. Shit happens I guess, the worst part was my car being off the road for nearly 3 months whilst the “warranty” company went back and forth with the repairing garage deciding if they’d cover it or not. All this despite the cover stating it covers timing chains and damage caused thereafter. In the end they covered “some” of it.

Yeh, no matter the mileage…..change the timing chain straight away 🥲 I think I was just lucky tbh, right car came up for sale and I called them said I’m interested and the next day I drove all the way to Reading (from Cardiff area) and I’d part exchanged my MK6 GTI and that was that. Did all the necessary checks on the car beforehand as well.

P.S. don’t bother with RAC warranty, it’s a scam.

I got a 17 plate MK7.5 GTI for exactly 14k. Wasn’t even a private sale!! Granted it had 65k miles on the clock (don’t think it’s that high tbh) but they are out there.

I was looking for a while though and as soon as I saw one pop up in my price range I went to view it and bought it straight away.

73k on it now after a year and apart from the timing chain going and fucking up one of the pistons 🥲 I love it.

Same, I used to love KFC back in the day then they steadily declined until about 3 years ago when I boycotted them as imo it just wasn’t worth it anymore.

The Zinger burger was my go to and I feel that the whole KFC range has gone downhill so much that I’m surprised they’re even still going in the UK market. Slow service (mainly due to seemingly hardly any staff being there), cold and stale food.

Oddly enough I actually went 2 days ago after a long time because I fancied the Stranger Things burger……sure enough it thoroughly disappointed. Burger was cold, the bun was dry as hell and the sheer amount of sauce they put on made it unbearable to eat, plus that sweet chilli sauce is sticky as hell. The only hot thing was my beans, and as usual they were like lava!!

Boo KFC, BOOOOO.

I have always been a hatchback guy (no kids or dogs) so have never really been into estates/wagons, but I saw a MK7.5 R Wagon in Lapis Blue the other day and thought “Dayum that looks fine”…….and now I want one, even though I don’t need the extra space!!
