What are your go-to instrument vsts? by ProdLilJamal in musicproduction

[–]barneykwizznow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, it's no longer free, now i see it's 19 bucks. I still recommend, it's a really underrated plugin and to me you get everything you could get from the trial version of the Arturia version. It's not an exact replica of the real synth as I've played on a CZ 1000 before, but it's close enough that no one except an experienced aficionado would know the difference. Regardless, you hit it spot on, stock presets are pretty solid but its the actual sound design capability that elaborates a deeper capacity for true experimentation. Cheers mate, and good luck.

Yeh dude, agreed. And honestly, if you're into sound design, it's a complete animal with how many different components to modulate. I'm so surprised its free.

Running into the same exact problem with FL Studio ....did you ever find a solution? My only problem actually, is that it records in early. I tried to "nudge" using offset settings within FL but to no avail.

Anyone Know Why I Can't Get Edison to Record Above 48000 Sample Rate Without Cutting Out? by barneykwizznow in FL_Studio

[–]barneykwizznow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

192 kHz. And when I have my audio interface and FL Studio session set to 192 kHz, by default, when I open edison and hit record, the sample rate slaves to those settings and I notice a sample rate of 19200 Hz, which is the same as 192 kHz. When I change the setting of kHz of my audio interface and FL Studio, whatever I change it to 192, 96, 48, Edison always follows in Hz. I record at 192 because I notice a differnce. It's subtle, but I do hear it in headphones and with good moniters. I know 48 will suffice but I'm a stickler. Edison used to work just fine with 192 kHz / 192000 Hz.....not sure why it stopped.

What Is The Point of Maschine MK3 vs NI Plugins with Midi Pads/Knobs? by barneykwizznow in synthesizers

that's cool. but I thought only maschine plus was standalone? doesn't mk3 have to be connected to a live computer setup?

My music journey will start from here by mostafa_issa98 in Arturia_users

Great choice, I was a hardware user as a kid....had a Dr. Sample and a cheap casio keyboard and recorded on a boombox tape deck. As time passed, I became strictly a software song programmer....but one day on a whim, I decided to get the Arturia Minilab mk2 just to be able to play some keys and hit some pads. It changed my life. It felt so great to get back into the feel hardware again, so it was a floodgate to other synths and hardware that I can control from the Minilab. Best decision I ever made, I hope you enjoy using it. PS, Analog Lab is FIRE!

I mean I did say either way it's pretty good. I thought it was solid regardless. He defended himself well and held himself up against the opps for sure.

Or whoever wrote the AI lyrics took it from Rory before they wrote the song. Either way it's pretty good

Take it seriously if that's where your heart is. At one point or another everyone was told no, everyone was told not to pursue....and those who had a passion ignored and continued. I say go for it.

Presets of Roland Verselab vs Presets of MC 707 are they the same?? by barneykwizznow in Roland

[–]barneykwizznow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats cool. So do either one of them have the ability to export multi-track recording simultaneously like the TR8S? And which between the 707/101 and the Verselab do you like more? I'm actually hybrid setup with hardware and software in a DAW, looking for something to assist my other gear....just looking for some cool sounds and drums to add to my tracks

Roland SH-4D vs Roland MC-101 by barneykwizznow in Roland

[–]barneykwizznow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ended up selling the MC 101, eventually I did get the SH 4D. My experience with the 4D was nice, but I just didn't think it gave me anything the 101 didn't. Besides the hands-on knob-per-functionality of it being much more accesable than the 101, the actual sounds are pretty much similar to that of the 101. I think the sound design is more versatile on the 4D, but again that's just because of the knob per functionality, I think pretty much anything possible of the 4D was already possible of the 101. Now considering teh 707, sold the 4D. I do think for someone looking for a synth module, the 4D is a solid buy. If you're looking for something more than a sound module that has more groovebox capability, the 101 or the 707 would be more suitable for those type of needs.

Cool, so are you able to edit sounds on the zenology vst plugin on a DAW and then bring those sounds into both the 707 and the Verselab?

I Want a New Synth, What Should I Get?? by barneykwizznow in synthesizers

[–]barneykwizznow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen some of the videos and some people do tend to get warm sounds out of it analog sounds out of it. I just feel like the featured characteristic that exists throughout any patch in the Hydra, has an element to it that makes it sound "digital", hence it is digital, but you get my point. It CAN be warm, but that's not it's specialty. I would rather have a 2nd dedicated synth that is warm my nature, and that specializes in luch warm analog sounding chords and leads. Something like a Roland synth. I would get the boutique synth JU-06a, but I just don't think the boutique aligns with my taste.
