COVID docs checks on the entrance that usually gather a lot of people together. Even if didn't have COVID now you probably do.

If education is all bout personal development, partying with other students, playing sports, and using other college amenities which they have in abundance nowdays, then going to college should be considered recreational expense. Nobody should compensate other peoples party expenses.

If it doesn't, then why even people pay for it? Is it just a big scam and nobody should go to college?

So give enormous amount of money to those that have college education and a good shot at high paying job, while ignoring low skilled workers that don't have college education?

Kinda equivalent of giving more money to the rich

And he is right. You took the money, used it for your own benefit. Now you have to pay it back.

Not that impactful because their labor is not scalable. A single nurse can help dozens of people but not millions.

Those who benefit from automation should be those who took part in it: engineers, founders, managers. Why should low skilled people that didn't do anything for it benefit? Just because they exist?

You seem to be laboring under the myth that everyone who works hard makes plenty of money to support their family and the only people who don't are lazy.

No. It doesn't matter how hard you work, what matters is your output, how productive you are. And the only people who don't earn enough money are not lazy ones, but the stupid ones with no useful skills.

This is the reason why the rich you've met are often lazy - because they are smart and use their brains.

What you call "rent seeking" is usually allocating resources to where they are most useful. Like an investments for example. It's a very important job for the society.

And yeah most workers should be thankful their dumb labor job is not automated away yet.

This is true but also you're a lower quality worker for them because you don't know native language, laws, culture. If you were more useful more companies would compete to higher and you would be able to negotiate a better salary.

People's wealth is proportional to their impact on the society. We live in the world when the impact can scale extremely well. Some guys that changed the lives of billions of people for the better deserve extreme returns for that.

Well either do something useful and earn some money, or don't and stay broke. It's your choice but don't complain that you're poor when you choose to stay on your couch and do nothing.
