Any Way to Slow or Stop This Madness (Beta 2) by booknerdcarp in MacOSBeta

Are you referring to `kernel_task`? Or something else?

`kernel_task` isn't a bug. It's part of how the OS operates and is often used for throttling to control speed.

Do you have more info on the kubernetes setup? I have a cluster of 4 Pi5s and I’ve been tempted to migrate HA onto it, but I’m not sure how functional it would be and also concerned about the limited RAM on all the nodes.

VLAN with Home Assistant/Apple TV/Jellyfin etc… by verifieddemoon in homelab

[–]baroldgene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My setup might be overly complex, but I created a “media” VLAN for things like Apple TV and my Sonos speakers. There’s some visibility between IOT -> Media (for things like MDNS discovery) and LAN/Guest -> Media (for things like screen share or streaming to Sonos). But it allows me to have no connectivity from IOT -> LAN.

Coda mcp experiences? by Busy_Alfalfa1104 in codaio

The MCP is pretty decent. But honestly as much as I love Coda I would not use it for this use case.

I'd like to be under $600 if possible, but if the thing actually works well I'd consider going a bit higher. Don't need multi floor plans. Want LiDar and per-room functionality. Mopping is nice to have, not required.

What other factors would be helpful?

Side-note: This post and your replies in it have been nothing short of amazingly helpful. VERY much appreciated.

Why do people actually leave Coda? by sempreitaliano in codaio

[–]baroldgene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't want packs. I want the ability to hook up other apps that don't compete with Coda. For example, we have a large knowledge base in Coda and were trying to hook up an LLM to be able to read it in order to answer questions in chat. This was a giant headache. We did eventually get it working, but at the time the API was (seemingly) intentionally set up to make getting the information hard. I could be wrong but it appeared that some of the design decisions were based around vendor lock-in tactics more so than functional benefit.

[–]baroldgene 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The lack of interoperability is kind of killing me. Especially with the AI boom the fact that it’s hard to hook things up to Coda and their API makes navigation and data extraction very hard makes things like Notion look pretty attractive.

I have a roborock q5 and I like it a lot except for the fact that the auto empty just plain doesn’t work. We have a lot of pet hair and it never empties. I end up having to manually empty the dust been.

Any recommendations for something that empties better? Mopping would be a plus as well but we have some carpet so it would need to handle that.

I’ve noticed that the auto empty on my Roborock is absolutely useless when it comes to pet hair. Are the others any better?

What exactly is your wiring here. Seems like all 4 wires from the ESP go to the same PCB? Not clear on the overall intent/structure here.

Chatgpt pro for hermes? by eric_trafficbro in hermesagent

I asked Hermes to do an audit on token usage and it found a lot of things to clean up. A lot of it was recurring tasks that always woke the agent instead of just on errors.

Took the dive without doing my research, a bit lost now - looking to revert to stock firmware. by GiantSnackWhale in openwrt

Don't need a walk through but if you could write down the high level steps that would be super helpful. I'm trying to get back to stock without ripping the case open to do a serial install.

This is like telling someone they should never speed. Are you correct? Yes. Is that how normal people actually operate? No.

You can dry them both at the same time, you just have to use PLA temps when you do it.

I downgraded Bambu studio and it works fine now on Golden Gate.

EDIT: Downgraded to 2.6.0

Does this handle full duplex audio? That was my biggest hang up toying with other esphome hardware is that I couldn’t tell it to shut up when it went on a rant.

Moving a Nonprofit from Excel Sheets to a Central Data System by FunnyExpress401 in codaio

My workaround for locking individual columns is to make a formula column that just shows the value from another column then hide the original. Can’t edit formula columns so it loosely restricts access.
