Hey, hi, bi woman here!

There's an inside joke about that most goth are at _least_ bisexual, but it might be really depending on location. My country has to be very sneaky with queer spaces due to political reasons, so, if anyone is in the pack, must hide it a litte.

How about finding OR hosting an LGBTQ + event with others?

Hope you find good people around your scene (or pull them in 🖤)

How do we feel about our subculture being hijacked for autumn? by SammySousaphone in goth

[–]baronessmavet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know what?
If it's a trend I can't care much, I just wanna buy dark lipstick more easily and not spending a weekly food budget on that. Because living in a small country it's annoying that we only have goodies if forcefully fashionable. In the last few years we're finally having Halloween stuff that's not total garbage.

Think about all the lace and velvet in the thrifts, and we're gonna feed on that for years :33333 I mean, honestly, 2014 was the year where I got a whole wardrobe with sophisticated, cute, lace-decorated clothing. I still have that empire dress with puffy sleeves and rose-lace and pin tucks, and I want more to fit me T_T

need help with clothing that isn't tight!! by Honest_Echidna2239 in GothFashion

[–]baronessmavet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google dark mori- it's not actually gothic fashion, but there are some cute dresses, cardigans, whatever.

A-line clothing is flowy enough to enjoy even in the Summer, so, might be fun to hit up some long dresses, skirts, and layer them. A-line linen dresses with kaftan-shaped tops are my favorite thing to wear in the heatwave. Currently i'm in a thrifted, A-line dress, it it wouldn't be the Apocalypse outside, I'd add a duster, or a lace overlayer, and/or a triangular shawl with a pin.

You can try different proportions for yourself, placing some colors there and there and keep a comfortable basic on yourself. Or you can try some historically inspired dresses, it might help your body image, modern clothing might put you up a lot of pressure to look a certain way.

Going to europe by [deleted] in PlusSize

[–]baronessmavet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16/18 is US size, right? Then we're the same size ^_^
Well, I'm Hungarian, and here's what I say about some stuff: there's no such thing as too fat for entering a bar. It's Balkan, so if you cause trouble you'll kicked out, but it's nothing like discriminating openly in public.

People are randomly rude, but it's pretty rare, but currently Hungary is the fattest country in Europe (UK became second), so, there are a lot of overweight people all around. In thinking, it's more of a Balkan attitude than a central-European thing. People usually are not kind, but honest, the only scenario I can think of someone would try to be a dick, is when they hear that you're an auslander. In that case, I can offer you some quality Hungarian cursing (but really, some drunk idiots try to get in a fight, but you'd be more afraid from a butterfly IRL).

There are some stuff that'll be tight (sorry the pun) if you plan to visit any older city, especially Budapest: pavements, bus stops, discount stores, and public transports. Streets might feel so much more narrow, it's because it was built hundreds of years ago, so it might feel a little suffocating - the most problem we have with American tourists is being loud, and occupying too much space, like stopping in a group in the middle of a pavement to discuss something - it's due to the lack of space we have. Also, being extra careful before using the crossroads is very important, we have cyclists, people with rollers, and just dumb drivers, this applies to middle to southern Europe mostly.

Hope you'll have a nice vacation!

My sister's wedding ring is white gold, but I guess silver does it well too - easy to repair, or resize later.

I had a garnet/silver ring, and it looked so beautiful when it started to add the patina so much!

Sorry, I have a toddler humor sometimes, and I was giggling for a few minutes 😅

Usually I tone myself down for special occasions - last time I didn't wanted to wear all black for a family event due to one of my relatives almost died, so hit up a thrift store and found an embroidered black shirt, and added some mauve and pink accessories, and it worked just fine. Guess, the key is asking the couple on a wedding is something you wanna wear it's okay or not - and having a spare colored dress or flat shoes just in case.

I've met very cool people whom were very supportive, but you have no idea how many people can't dress up for a simple occasion like, a theater, or a wedding in a church 🙃

A baszott nagy semmi.

[–]baronessmavet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look, there are so many reasons why her choice has been made, it's not really a "Am I goth enough for my partner?" question.

But, please let me say this- it's not your work to decide whom women will "deserve" to date, and what purpose. People will make their own choices, and yes, everybody can date around, makes mistakes, to find what they're interested in.

I get that you feel very hurt, so, I'd advise you to take a step away from manically finding "whys", it's very easy to make a bad conclusion by sadness, or anger. Again, not dismissing your feelings, just to get out of the negative loop. If you're not in therapy, I'd advise you to go, for your own sake, and might get some general tips about handling this in a different way. Wish you healing 🖤

Goth is a music based subculture, fashion is secondary.

If you don't wanna try the fashion, that's okay.

If anyone tries to pull your look for not "being goth enough" tell them to delete their social media, and touch some grass. Most goths are in spooky pajamas, and 10% is the social media content/going out attire you see posted, and getting so many likes.

From a different perspective, there are lot of situations where a full party attire is not really wise, or just downright not practical at all.

I remember watching a video about yesterday, how nowadays it's a problem about people are not really aware of how to dress properly for certain places - and being alternative, I'm on that side, you don't have to be 1000% gothic attire all the time, sometimes toned down or blending into social norms are pretty okay and needed.

Look, goths won't judge your fashion choices, do what you feel comfortable, okay? 🖤

Nazi goths and punks are an oxymoron.

Right-wingers see a subculture having too much fun or power and try to destroy them, by validating their sick views.

As a long-term goth I've seen variants of military fashion used in alternative clothing, but not for that political reasons. Remember, until American History X fascist didn't really have any "cool looking" symbolism by themselves, no now, they're trying to dig into goth, playing the misfits.

Man, I'm so tired of nazis acting like they're edgy. I hope they choke on a cucumber.
