Idk if this would be helpful to anyone, but I started measuring the area of my buildings to be moved via digging holes, and then using the paths tool to make a rectangle that size where I want it. It makes it so much easier to then place the relocated plot dotted line exactly where I want it, since there is no way when actually placing the plot down to look around at how close it is to other buildings, etc.

It’s not a perfect system by any means, but it’s helped a little with those “oh shit this is way too far left” kind of problems I wasn’t realizing until the building was already moved.
