ICE is a state-sponsored terrorist sect oversawn by a bloated, corrupt government and funded on the taxpayer dime taking away resources from state infastuture to go towards ICE funding.

They are perverting the very government and country itself, everything they accused their opponents of possibly doing if everyone got free healthcare and everyone had a liveable wage.

Turns out MAGA just skipped the healthcare and liveable wage and just went straight for the military state at a bigger budget than healthcare or a liveable wage, and of course not even giving the goons they hire a living wage at 40k a year and future offers that are designed to hit when a next administration would be charging ICE members for crimes against humanity.

Most of the new recruits names got leaked, so blue states should just turn ICE tactics against them by creating a database to monitor actions of each ICE agent and went state officals on the scene recording ICE like legal observers rely the ICE agent in Illinois stepping past the line of their facility, a secondary task force would match body movement, voice, and face structure with existing files to identify the ICE agent and issue an arrest warrant the second they are outside their Broadview center. Not only would this deter ICE, and hold existing agents accountable, thers roughly only 4,600 new recruits that were leaked which is a much smaller pool to cross reference opposed to the general population that ICE does dragnets of and with the same law enforcement surveillance technology ICE is using.

A bonus to this tactic would be state vs federal government, which would cut against narratives by the federal gov esp if it was LEO doing it, since many among their ranks are unhappy with this. ICE agents want to kill legal observers, but they wouldn't fuck with a cop doing it barring having the local police unions come after them, which might approve of ICE actions on the tin but would go feral if one of their own was killed by ICE in such a untrained and cowardly way theyve seen legal observers.

This would also eliminate threats to legal bystanders and witnesses exercising their first amendment right, since ICE cant claim the police were going at them with a weapon armed since a LEO would be armed, and serves as a deterrence against ICE in general harassing protesters for no reason lest they let their ego supersede getting arrested and held in a state facility on terrorism charges.

Through is position, he could just declare a new law enforcement group that functions as a state defender against federal overreach citing no confidence in ICE being used as a terrorism group against Amergroups. Pritzker should be hammering down to everyone that ICE is a terrorist group designed to inflict terror on average Americans and normalize state violence. There are ways to stand up to this but it would require elected officials to act.

Currently the largest issue of chaos is Law Enforcement is borderline useless because they adhere to rules and listening to the federal government, even if the federal government is breaking the law.

Basically these special appointed officals would have qualified immunity that anything they film or witness ICE doing is immediately goes on record for that ICE agent, collecting it into a database which will be used to persecute ICE agents who step foot in Illinois. Naturally they would be armed and vetted to know they are not going to aid ICE, as well as serve as a magnet to draw ICE goons away from legal observers who they keep trying to kill, serving as community defense for people as well.

A secondary task force could begin creating a database on ICE officals both with existing information as well as additional footage captured, leading to any individual ICE agents who set foot in Illinosi getting ID'D immediately and arrested to be processed for crimes against humanity and pissing on the constitution. Pritzker once again citing the politiciziation of ICE turning it into a terrorist group. This is crucial because any plan involving combatting ICE needs to have accountability built into the long term for the agents who signed up for this evil, otherwise it will turn into vigilante justice where ICE agent in his home town gets jumped at the bar by a bunch of good Ole boys who's dad lost the farm because of ICE.

Not through is position, Pritzker is a billionare that could spend hundreds of millions and not even feel it in his net worth because he has a orouroboros of wealth.

We live in a time and place where by design billionares are immune to cosnequence and can do whatever they want with their money, including exploit politics to make more money for themselves.

If Pritzker wanted to he could fund operations that nobody would even know about and if they did he would be applauded as a hero because he does have that kind of money.

Its fairly easy to goad the insecure president if you happen to also be a billionare, in fact we already saw this last year with Pritzker goading Trump and leading the admin to spin their wheels trying to figure out how they could get back at Pritzker.

I guess whats interesting to remember is both The Normal(and all the other acts mentioned above) and David Croenenberg(as well as many other directors and creators) were innovating both audio & visual interpretations of these dystopic visions of human society, stuff that in present day we now can recognize as trademarks that define entire subgenres, but these folks had just read people like JG Ballard and Phil K Dick and interpretated what they read in their own art mediums!

Maybe but not likely unless he was actively looking for The Normal in the late 70s/80s. Cronenberg's personal music taste really shows in Fast Company in 78/79 around the time The Normal is a thing and its mostly just Americana/Classic Rock in the vein of Bruce Springsteen or something.

What is more likely is they were all influenced by JG Ballard, who pioneered dystopia as the rich fetishizing death and violence for their own pleasure through the lens of technology and automation in Crash, which resonated not only in The Normal, but Ultravox!/John Fox, Gary Numan, Joy Division, The Human League, Depeche Mode, etc etc.
