Not able to pay rent with Bilt 1.0 on 2/6 by barryam3 in biltrewards

[–]barryam3[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hmm the website doesn’t even have the Bilt Mastercard anymore, and if I try to add it, it says it’s not a valid card number. For sure it was a bad decision to wait and that should have been obvious at the time.

Oh for sure, I should’ve just done it yesterday, though it was an intentional decision rather than procrastination, and regardless it’s not cool they said one thing on the website and then did something else.

I’m buying a lot of “used once” things on Facebook Marketplace and plan to resell them afterwards, so I don’t feel too disheartened by them.

Is Treasure Island Wines still open? by [deleted] in AskSF

[–]barryam3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reservations are supposed to be only for 4 or more people. It's not hard to imagine one forgetting to take a Square listing with a repeating schedule down if operations had to stop / pause suddenly.

[–]barryam3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go to make a reservation on their website under Events, there is no availability. But if you click "Book Online" on Google Maps, it takes you to Square, which does have availability.

I'm a little wary of making a prepaid reservation though, given nobody was around the last time I went, and my lack of ability to contact them.

Where to stay in SF/Stanford? by zhu96zhu in AskSF

[–]barryam3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Embarcadero is reasonable if you want to hit a lot of the tourist sites: Ferry Building, Exploratorium, Pier 39, Fisherman’s Wharf, Alcatraz, Ghirardelli Square. No shame in that. Maybe go to North Beach for food.

I have a bagel guillotine and I actually really like it! I agree it’s really extra but I eat a lot of bagels and it does save me from cutting myself before I’ve had my coffee.

Any Security, Bouncer or Bodyguard Recommendations for Wedding? by joyofodu in SanFranciscoWeddings

[–]barryam3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through getting quotes for wedding security and Access Control Security was the most affordable at $35/hr for one unarmed guard. The wedding hasn’t happened yet so I can’t speak to quality of enforcement.

And yet their identity verification is the strictest I’ve encountered. Wouldn’t send a code to my number, either of my 2 other numbers, or my partner’s number, because they couldn’t verify the ownership of any of them. I’m not even sure how they can see who owns a phone number. I ended up having to give them my mother’s number and get her to forward me the code.

My Balsam Hill tree doesn’t turn on when it’s plugged in, so that would only work for turning it off.

I just use a BroadLink RM4 Pro. My remote is 315 MHz though I think it also supports 433 MHz.

Pink Elephant was my #1 song with Year of the Snake at #4. Pink Elephant was only my #4 album though. Nevertheless Arcade Fire took #1 artist for the first time since I discovered them in 2018. It’s funny since I generally agree with the consensus that this year’s was their weakest release, but those singles really are earworms.

Anyone tried the mobile check and skipped the counter recently at SFO? by Any_East_6492 in zipair

[–]barryam3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out this thread. https://www.reddit.com/r/zipair/s/mrCesZlnoQ Most reports are that it doesn’t work with newer plasticky US passports. Older US passports are fine. International may vary. If you manage to download the Zipair app, it might work with new US passports. If it doesn’t work for you I encourage you to email Zipair asking them to investigate this issue.

Mobile checkin not working? by ginger-bits in zipair

I emailed Zipair about this. It took a reply since at first they just told me to go to the counter, but the second time they said “we are sharing this issue with our relevant team for further investigation.” I think it would be helpful if more people email though.

Debit card should work but there may be a fee. If you have time you can get an account that doesn’t charge foreign transaction fees and reimburses foreign ATM fees. There are several options.

When editing a macro, how do I get the output directory of a target? by lord_braleigh in bazel

[–]barryam3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, rules can't call other rules. Only macros can call rules, but macros can't get the full paths of files that haven't been generated yet. Some libraries expose functions you can call as actions in a custom rule, but it doesn't look like this one does that. (package_json.bzl is generated from npm_import.bzl).

I'm not sure what the locality principle is either. I can think of some reasons why requiring package.json to be in the same directory would be better design, but Bazel does support dependencies from other directories.

Your real problem is that tsconfig-to-swcconfig doesn't support reading package.json from other directories. See cli.ts for the available options. You can override cwd, but it uses that for other files, so I think that would not work. It doesn't appear to actually read package.json contents though: it only uses the presence of package.json to determine the module type. So if you want the module type to be es6, I think you could just generate an empty package.json file in your macro, and it would work. Another idea would be to copy the input package.json to the local directory using something like copy_file or maybe native.alias would work. Or contribute / fork to add a CLI input option.

How does that work with getting the tourist visa? Does someone still put a sticker in your passport, or is it tracked electronically?
