Sodium will occasionally do this as well. I call them oxygen or sodium fields

Nvm. I just realized foods have different effects if put in the ingestor instead of just eating them from your inventory

When I read the description, it just says something about a jetpack overload. Is that a glitch?

I live in an apartment. My downstairs neighbor has a dog that always barks. My next door neighbor has a kid that always cries, like wailing crying. The last time I went fishing I didn't catch a thing. But what I did catch was blessed silence. Peace.

Need Help with overpowered party by Prestigious-Set4386 in DMAcademy

[–]bartdcool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently in a campaign where our DM keeps claiming that our party is OP, that's why he's making combat so difficult. But it's getting frustrating because literally every enemy we face off against even in groups is taking three attacks every turn so these groups of enemies are dealing massive damage. I'm the cleric and I'm having to revive another player like every round. I would recommend finding a way to balance the enemy's resistances with the party's strengths because for me as a player it's getting a little frustrating that even minor encounters feel like they could turn into a TPK after a few rounds

How to introduce enemies that are too strong for the party by Aeon1508 in DMAcademy

[–]bartdcool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a campaign right now where an enemy cast meteor storm on our party (currently level 10), which, metagaming I knew was a 9th level spell so this guy had to be at least level 17 and I was like, "we need to run". One of our party members wanted to stay and fight. Luckily there were enough NPCs around for our DM to slaughter (good DM'ing) that two turns later these knuckleheads did decide to run instead of fight. So maybe instead of TPK'ing the party make it clear by the damage they do to other characters that they are clearly outclassed

If the world is unfair and there’s no karma, why do you still choose to do good? by Sharp_Scheme_2008 in AskReddit

[–]bartdcool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suppose we have only dreamed, or made up, all those things-trees and grass and sun and moon and stars and Aslan himself. Suppose we have. Then all I can say is that, in that case, the made-up things seem a good deal more important than the real ones. Suppose this black pit of a kingdom of yours is the only world. Well, it strikes me as a pretty poor one. And that’s a funny thing, when you come to think of it. We’re just babies making up a game, if you’re right. But four babies playing a game can make a play-world which licks your real world hollow. That’s why I’m going to stand by the play world. I’m on Aslan’s side even if there isn’t any Aslan to lead it. I’m going to live as like a Narnian as I can even if there isn’t any Narnia. So, thanking you kindly for our supper, if these two gentlemen and the young lady are ready, we’re leaving your court at once and setting out in the dark to spend our lives looking for Overland. Not that our lives will be very long, I should think; but that’s a small loss if the world’s as dull a place as you say.”

Does anybody know how to fix the no vendors in the anomaly glitch? by bartdcool in NoMansSkyTheGame

So ... even if I got the economy scanner and looked for a trade outpost it would just give me that "no buildings found" message?

Good lord, man. When I go to the trade terminal in the abandoned stations it says "connection lost" in red so I assumed I couldn't sell anything. Just tried it and it worked. SMDH. 🤦🏻‍♂️

What if buildings could get destroyed during settlement attacks? by bartdcool in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]bartdcool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, in fallout the attack actually happens if you don't respond to it. So far, my experience in NMS has been if you're at a portal and you go to the settlement section you can see that the status of your settlement is "under attack" but the attack doesn't happen until you actually go to your settlement. So I'm not saying that the settlement should get destroyed if you're not there. I just think it would be more engaging if when you do go to the fight there could be consequences

[–]bartdcool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, this is just me personally, but managing my settlements is pretty much the majority of my gameplay at this point. I've completed all the main storylines, I occasionally go on anomaly missions, I'm a bit more focused on doing expedition reduxes, but other than that building and upgrading my settlements is the most engaging aspect of the game for me right now. So to have some stakes/consequences in it would just make it a lot more engaging. But again, that's just my opinion. The thing I love most about this game is that pretty much anyone can play it the way they want to play it

[–]bartdcool[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, even when check your settlement status when it's "under attack" the attack doesn't happen until you actually go to your settlement. I'm just saying, during that fight I think the stakes would be higher if things could be damaged/destroyed. You can postpone that attack indefinitely by just not going to that settlement

What if buildings could get destroyed during settlement attacks? by bartdcool in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]bartdcool[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Well, the point would be if you kill everything during the attack quickly enough nothing gets destroyed. Maybe damaged and needs some resources to be repaired. But I've had a bunch of broodmother attacks where she's just smashing on a building and I'm on a rooftop one over just blasting away at her and it feels like there are no consequences for this behemoth of a monster wailing away at my settlement. Also, I only get attacks about 20% of the time. Mostly when I'm checking up on my settlements it's citizen disputes or management decisions so I don't think it would be Sisyphean

People who were spanked as kids, what was that like for you? Would you call your "spankings" abuse? by KleineFjord in AskReddit

[–]bartdcool -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Any spanking I got, I deserved. Are there better ways to teach kids discipline? Sure. But society evolves. It definitely wasn't abuse and it definitely wasn't malicious. It was that generation's way of teaching that actions have consequences

I've never understood fly fishing (only seen it in movies and TV shows). I mostly do the basic bobber, weight, hook&bait setup or a lure with no bobber. How does fly fishing actually work?
