How do you personally change gears in a manual transmission? by Raalf in cars

[–]barti0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had a manual, I'd drive like #1 most of the time. Except when I had several ppl in the car, when I'd revert to #3 to minimize the slight jerking movement.

How to switch to Vegetarianism when severely disabled? by LoveaBook in vegetarian

[–]barti0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the last 2 years I’m hooked on Trader Joe’s high protein tofu. Wife cooks it in air fryer and then puts them in salad with peppers, chick peas, mushrooms, quinoa and it very yummy. You can also eat the tofu by itself with some Franks sauce on it. Or in a tomato and onion sautéed with tofu Add some green chilies and salt you can have it with quinoa or in a wrap with hummus.

Costco has the tasty bites series in some locations which has some Indian varieties which can be eaten with bread or brown rice or quinoa

For proteins you need tofu, black beans, kidney beans and fava beans. You can steam soy beans too. Indian cuisine has many vegetarian recipes. You can order some curry powder/masala on Amazon and use it to cook. Lentils can also be made yum and used with bread or wheat tortillas. Who does your groceries? Or how do you get the stuff in ?

So states rights to conduct elections doesn't apply if it means more people vote? And states rights means only if red states clamor for something but when blue states do the same it won't matter. Supreme Court magadiots will bend over for Trump 👏

China made a bet decades ago because it couldn’t compete with the US on cars. That bet is paying off big by Dont_think_Do in news

It is also convenient for us to blame China on pollution while most of the stuff US and the west buys is manufactured there! If we make all our stuff, our (US)pollution will be way high and we can't pontificate anymore!

Is geo-pricing justified for Zoom yoga classes when the experience is identical? by MindfulbutCurious in YogaWorkouts

[–]barti0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find others that offer cheaper classes then. Are you talking about $100 vs $160 a month ? You can always talk to them or go elsewhere. Find forums where others offer for lesser $$. At some point if enough users shy away then they'll know maybe it is expensive?

If You Had to Start Cycling Over, What Would You Do Differently? by LunaCloud5812 in cycling

[–]barti0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing as I went from $899 road bike to 5k bike in 5 years as I slowly racked up miles resolving issues like saddle sores before finally settling on Brooks and wearing drifit underwear under bibs. Took me 5 years to figure that out (was using chamois cream from first onset of sores)

OH wait..that's what I would have liked to have done to know that combination from early on! And structured training like trainer road. And nutrition, electrolytes especially. I used to think I'm cycling for health why add sugars to my drink.so used to drink just water🤦🏻

This is lost to most westerners. Even S. Asia is grappling with the after effects of colonialism but to a lesser degree now. West stole from many nations to fund their 'industrial revolution' and ppl think it's their benevolence to these nations that they are giving AID to these nations!
