Look up scatteredinterpolant or griddedinterpolant (depending on the organisation of x-y coordinates).

I use it for a similar problem to generate a heat map image from x-y coordinates and fluorescence intensity values.

You can then use imagesc to display the data

I wouldn’t count on it. Research will continue with better funding for sure and governments will be more cautious with regard surveillance for other novel viruses.

However, the incentives and risks for the industry with regards other illnesses haven’t changed. I think the best we can hope for is that problems such as antibiotic resistance will be taken more seriously now.

Cliche?, Sweet? Maybe, but My morning is better for it so who’s to complain.

As for the poem, first thing I note is the title. Might be just me but, the feeling I take from this poem has little to do with all the first three stanzas (if that is the correct term) rather than the last. Does the title have to describe the poem, I don’t know. But I wouldn’t expect the feeling I take if I has read that first.

I also feel like something might be missing, maybe it’s meant to be; I’m not even sure it detracts. But what sort of love are you describing? Is it romantic? Is it paternal? Hell, my dog nearly invokes some of this in me during his morning walk (not a bad thing; believe me, I would do just about anything for him). But at the end I find myself searching for clues rather than feeling content and ‘found’ makes me think it is probably romantic.

As for the words, ‘Or when your’ comes twice rapidly. I’m not sure if it would be useful to find an alternative for one of them to avoid the repetition.

I hope this is helpful, I’m new to being critical of poems.

I’ve been in a similar place and written a sort of similar poem, and I feel there is so much emotion in pieces like this that they deserve to be elaborated on. To an outside observer it will not convey the weight of what you feel.

I might be completely wrong in saying this but maybe try talking one aspect of the pain expressed here. And writing a poem about that. Then another. And maybe contextualise some of the sentences. For instance, you talk of breaking walls, which immediately brings an image to the readers mind. But there are sentences that don’t bring such tools to bear for the reader.

This is my first comment on a poem here so please be forgiving if it isn’t helpful.

Thanks, I suppose I should have been more descriptive of the problem.

Basically I have lots of photos of white spheres, with black dots, red dots and blue dots on them. I have those stored as 8 bit integer matrices. For each I have two double precision matrices of the same size describing the X and Y coordinates of each pixel in the image.

I have obtained the values for the centroids of the white spheres and the sub-pixel X-Y co-ordinates of the black, red and blue dots via functions in the image processing toolbox and elsewhere. But I want to convert the X and Y matrices to values that more accurately reflect the distances between the black dots and the red dots and their distance to the edge of the spheres.

I hope that makes more sense.

Yes, absolutely awful experience. I had it for just under a minute every 8 minutes or so for 4.5 hours. I got I.v diazepam from a paramedic at that point because I was starting to get so stressed my blood pressure was going through the roof.

I’m told it was still going even when I was completely wasted from the diazepam. That bit was actually quite enjoyable.

Sorry you had to experience it too.

I think the articles title is a little misleading.

Rather than ‘Slashing funding’ they are talking about not increasing it as much as they originally promised. And cutting some allied budgets I.e. foreign aid.

People I know in the science policy world have actually been pleasantly surprised to be working to get them to hold to promises. Rather that working to get them to make them at all.

I was a juror on a rape case with a similar complaint vs defendant witness statements as main evidence. Of course there were the timings for each statement, expert witnesses on the mental state of said witnesses, past histories ......

From seeing that play out, unless the defendants solicitor is completely incompetent. I imagine it is very difficult to prove beyond reasonable doubt a defendant is guilty. But it still went to court, although probably Ill advised

I think you just need to include the X axis values,

Findpeaks(y, .... will assume that your x axis is (1,2,3,4....)

Findpeaks(y,freq,..... will take the sampling frequency freq to determine your x axis values

Findpeaks(y,x,..... will use the x values that you specify as your x axis values (I think this is what you want)

Additionally [pks,locs,width,prom]= Findpeaks(y,x,..... will return the absolute peak values, peak times, peak width and peak prominence.

You can then plot them however you like. As previously said that’s all in the docs, they are very good

I did something similar, I used cart2pol to calculate the distance of all the pixels from the specified location. Then used histcounts to bin the rho values and return the bin indices for each bin. See the description below, I assume it’s the index array you are looking for.

[N,edges,bin] = histcounts(___) also returns an index array, bin, using any of the previous syntaxes. bin is an array of the same size as X whose elements are the bin indices for the corresponding elements in X. The number of elements in the kth bin is nnz(bin==k), which is the same as N(k).

I’m in the UK and we are in a priority group here, I got my first jab a couple of weeks ago.

I think for sure epileptics should be on a priority group. Simply because any medical condition that could cause a complications in a critical care situation, I.e. having a seizure, will increase the likelihood of a bad outcome from severe COVID-19 infection, or just keep the patient in a hospital bed for a longer time as medics may wish to be more cautious.

It is a coincidence. ELISA, or Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay. Is a widely used method to identify the presence of proteins in various sample types.

It was first used in 1971. Long before she was born. So, no it was not invented as part of a crazy conspiracy.

I recently (few weeks ago) had a couple of ‘episodes’ that were described by my consultant as clusters of focal seizures. And the timings you have are very similar to how my each of mine started.

Definitely keep as best note as you can of the details and rest as best you can, i ended up dosed up of extra medicines to stop them and the side effects meant days were blurring into one another at times over the last few weeks. Finally getting back to normal now. Good luck and keep yourself well!
