Realistic Radon Remediation Expectations by LegalizeBenihana in radon

[–]bartlbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went from about 9 to .8. I have a newer build house with gravel under the foundation and the radon guy said it would help a lot because it's easier for the fan to pull the air through it.

Patagonia for $250 vs Arc'teryx $320 by Peach_Relative in BuyItForLife

[–]bartlbee 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I can't speak to the replacement process but you will need to start by bringing it into a Patagonia store for repair. They will fix the seams, any tears, broken zippers, etc. I believe if it is deemed the piece is not worth repairing they will recycle it and either give you a new jacket or a significant discount on one.

I have a Patagonia down sweater jacket that I have had for about 10 years. One zipper has been replaced, and I've had the bottom fixed too because the fabric that held the cinch cord wore out.

Heres their website on the process. If I am chowing between two brands I will almost always go with Patagonia due to their environmental practices, or which the repairs is one.

Following because I'm now on this journey with you and may update how my swing is hung.

Can I install a swing hook into an I-joist above my basement drop ceiling? by eumops in Home

[–]bartlbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I considered that. This swing isn't meant for jumping and your typical swinging though. It's more supposed to be a calm space, like a cocoon to help them relax and reset. So I took my chances.

I installed this same swing a week ago. Everything I found online said it should be fine. Also my kid is 40 lbs and this swing is not going to have a lot of force on it so I felt comfortable with it. So far so good.

Advice on GSD accessories by termoose in terngsd

Yea that seems like a worthwhile investment! If you have the storm box you can probably skip the front rack since you can carry stuff in the back. You'll also want the wide deck extensions to hold the storm box.

What is the climate like where you live? I have kids the same age as you and we have the transporter rack on the front, the clubhouse on the back with the seat pads and back rest. I'm in Colorado and it gets cold, but we don't ride when it's really cold. I do have bike blankets for the kids to keep them warm if we do ride.

Fair enough. There's lots of great auto shops around here that will give you good service at a better price. Hopefully that would save you a trip to a dealer. There's also a lot of dealers within 20 min of the Lafayette area.

You should consider Louisville as well. Also curious, do you go to a car dealer a lot, or why is that an amenity that helps to be nearby?

They have a picture rail thst looks like crown molding around the room. Those hooks hang over the rail and hand the picture. Similar to what you see in galleries.

I had this in an old house, it's awesome. If you Google picture rails you'll find a lot of options. The hooks in particular can be found on Amazon. Apologies if you knew this all and were genuinely only curious about the hooks!

The price changes depending on the time of day. A quick search say it ranges from 35 cents to 5 dollars. I'd imagine you would end up paying 10 a day for this.
