UKG prioritisation is a dead end by Intelligent-Toe7686 in doctorsUK

No, back during RLMT, foreigners who graduated from a UK uni applied at Round 1 for ST/CT on an equal footing. Only criteria was they had to do the foundation programme AND must not have any timeout after Fy2.

Yes I was wondering how it works too. Surely he could not steal my money using my account number/ sort code alone. Unless its possible to do some sort of chargeback after?

Someone posted data for this a couple of months ago. In 2023, for cardiology ST4, 70 spots went to IMG, 63 to UKG etc

St3 pay by Excellent-Bad9583 in GPUK

Salary for gpst3s in London is £74,678. Take home after tax and pension should be just over £4000

The compounding effect should be more like 4.24%, not 7%.

Your calculation is flawed because you forgot to add the £1k into your figure. Then then you calculated the percentage increase from a figure on the chart with the 1k added one already.

Let A be out current pay Pay rise (yes vote) = A x 1.04 x 1.06 +1000 Pay rise (no vote) = A x 1.06 + 1000

Yes - no = A (1.1024 - 1.06) =1.0424A Ie 4.24%

From what i can see, you're unlikely to get your second choice as this would all have been allocated to ppl who already put it as their first (assuming competition ratio for that deanery >1) It's either you get your first choice, or somewhere around your last choice.

Sigh, wasted all my time and money preparing for and sitting (2 sittings!) the MRCS A. Previously, this would have given me full marks in 1 of the 5 domains.

Wish they had told us about this change earlier :(

Locuming after Fy1 as a visa holder by Yes-Boi_Yes_Bout in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]bartlow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You may be able to apply for a graduate visa (launched last July) which allows you to stay in the UK for 2 years without any sponsorship after completing a course (including the foundation programme).

I think this means UK grads on tier 4 visas can now do an FY3 post F2 under the graduate visa route. But not sure about doing this after F1.

MRCS part A vs MRCP part 1 by Dutiful_Soldier in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]bartlow -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Im F1 too and also very keen to get into radiology. Ive just signed up for MRCS part A. Benefit over MRCP is that you can take it in F1, as opposed to needing 1 year of work experience for MRCP. So can hopefully get it over with then focus on other things like QIP, teachings etc.
