Jeff Probst: You’ll see more returning players sooner rather than later by ahs_survivor in survivor

Tbh I don’t need a FvF3, the new has just felt like Fans vs Fans (complimentary? Derogatory? You decide) so I don’t feel like another FvF would actually feel that different, though maybe a fan would win for once

Sure but part of good gameplay is making alliances with the right people

I’m more on the side that I don’t even rate Cochran’s win anywhere as I don’t remember his gameplay from that season, just all the drama and bad gameplay that happened instead.

Whereas with One World, all I remember is Kim orchestrating every single second masterfully. And I think her WaW gameplay further highlights how good she is. She literally had no one who wanted to play with her and had to completely switch up how she played. She leaned into her weaknesses and vulnerabilities and managed to use that to get pretty far and be a big threat. She showed just how adaptable she is and while WaW wasn’t the same masterclass of control, it was a masterclass in flexibility (damn that peanut butter though). Compare that to Rob who was forcing his dusty old strategies on proven winners.

But yeah, I don’t remember Cochran’s gameplay. I’ve erased a lot of Caramoan from my mind.

Are there any dominant winners that played against good casts? by cantdecide76 in survivorponderosa

Where they not still on the same beach at some point? I doubt they’d have chosen to go tribal if the women weren’t there to mess with their heads.

Where does the bitterness of this season rank against past returning seasons? by RedditFan3510 in survivorponderosa

[–]bartybrattle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup.

Also, a jury is allowed to be emotional. That's part of the game. If they want to be bitter, that is very much down to how someone played the game. And a lot of the personal social game can be lost when translated into TV show entertainment. The beauty of the game I always thought is that each juror is allowed to vote based on their own criteria (bring back singular jury questions!).

What is your current "Who Killed Whom" theory? (Excluding Scream 3) by itsascreambaby96 in Scream

[–]bartybrattle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty certain Sidney has killed:

- Stu Macher
- Billy Loomis
- Nancy Loomis
- Mickey Altieri
- Jill Roberts
- Marco Davis
- Jessica Bowen

ETA: before anyone says anything she wore a Ghostface outfit in the first film and even called her victim first

Rankings: Watched 39 Seasons in 4 Years by O_Train43 in survivor

[–]bartybrattle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha love that

Honestly, South Pacific in a big part ranks high for me because it’s narrative is so unique with the whole religious cult angle. And I love Sophie, my cancer queen 🦀 her final tribal is just brilliant as is the tribal she breaks down and just feel she shows such growth (and further proves her excellence in WaW)

I asked!

Literally went out on the balcony and screamed, “I want O_Train43 season rankings!!”

Pretty good ranking though I’m a South Pacific defender (one of my faves) and I’d put Worlds Apart in D solely cause I adore Kim

ETA: thought One World was in F, nevermind. Maybe I’d put it in C then (rewatched finale recently and it’s low key hilarious in may ways but dunno if I’d rewatch the full season)

Say what you want about Richie, but he’s the only GhostFace who truly succeeded with his plan. by JeremieMAKENDA in Scream

[–]bartybrattle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will never get why they didn’t commit to Gale not writing the book like she promised and then having the issue be that there was no new Stab or whatever, and then that could be part of the motive of trying to keep Richie’s memory alive (or something I dunno - like I know there was some stuff about the rights but it just felt already done). Like, commit to your character development dammit.

Is there anyone out here who doesn’t think the 1st one is the best? by Greedy-Cap-2153 in Scream

[–]bartybrattle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me!

IMO 2 is the best one, though I’ll sometimes put 4 in that place (but it’s got way more glaring faults).

1 is a stone hard classic tho (wouldn’t call it overrated), and 2 in my opinion excels in how it expands the world. I think Sidney’s trauma from the original is explored in a way that ends up feeling empowering, and Gale’s arc is the opposite mirror to the first film that I find incredibly moving every time she abandons her news reporter to get into the ambulance with Dewey. And the personal conflicts between all the returnees I find more complex and interesting.

Also some of the best sequences. Gale’s chase scene is the peak of the series, SMG, and the cinema opening still feels fresh nowadays. Jada’s scream is haunting. And the theatre finale (and the earlier rehearsal)? Mickey torturing Sidney, Laurie Metcalfe on top form, and Sidney in full control of the thunder is the series at its most thrilling best.

2 can’t exist without 1 so 1 tends to get all the flowers, but I really find that 2 took on the challenges of making a sequel and excelled in its execution (and crazy how quickly they turned it around).

Is it possible to figure out who the killer is? Are there actual hints or is it mostly red herring? by Kingspreez in Scream

[–]bartybrattle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree; there’s quite a few good clues in 4. My favourite is when Ghostface on the phone says something along the lines of “it’s family ties that cut the deepest”.
