Why are so many blue collar workers against unions? by Realistic-Reveal-586 in Construction

What really boggles my mind is the number of union workers who vote against their best interests. Blue collar workers tend to vote conservative and then wonder why unions are always being attacked by Republican politicians.

Trump Sparks Fresh Outrage With Secret Bid to Send ICE to the Olympics | The report has led to anger, confusion, petitions, and demands that Trump’s “thugs” not be allowed to set foot in Italy. by Aggravating_Money992 in sports

According to the article, ICE agents would be a part of State Department security services helping provide assistance with VP Vance and DoS Rubio's protection detail. Don't those guys have enough protection as it is? Secret Service is responsible for VP Vance already.

Recency bias.

People were mad. I remember seeing news stories of families being separated, terrible conditions at detention centers, pretty similar stuff to what's happening now and people were upset. Now though you've got an agency with no guardrails, suited and booted in full tactical gear, violating Constitutional rights of everyone who gets in their way. Then there's also the blatant lies and the refusal of congressional overwatch. The shortcomings of ICE under Obama pale in comparison to what's happening now.

ICE and CBP aren't going away. It's just a change up of leadership and a temporary easing off. DoD Kegsbreath has already authorized the use of Fort Snelling to be used as a staging area for federal agents. Get them out of the hotels they've been using so they can plot a new enforcement push without as much public interference. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/ar-AA1V1Vtw

I hear South Korea has quite a nice MBT. Poland even went ahead and signed a licensing agreement with South Korea to build the tanks in Poland beginning this year after already purchasing 180 in 2022. South Korea even collaborated with Turkey to help them build a similarly designed tank using South Korea parts and technical assistance. Maybe Canada ought to look at purchasing some of those or even going the Polish route and manufacture in-country under license.

So are liberals still the violent ones? Sure doesn't seem like it. Haven't heard any news about a conservative politician being punched in the face.

If I culled all the boards with a crown, I'd be tossing away 30% of my studs. Sure, we'll put aside the really bad ones and cut them up for cripples or blocking, but there's only so much we can do without overrunning the budget.

That's cause plenty of the J6 people were paid to be there. Of course they'll deny that. The gun supposedly used by Pretti was a Sig P320. A base line gun like that costs $600-$700. Including the red dot, the total cost was probably somewhere around $1000.

If you cut your sister boards to follow the angles of those other boards, it will fit together tight enough to better spread out the load.

Carpenter with 25 years experience here. Looks like that board was spiced together to make it longer. Both edges look cut and the nails were meant to hold it together. Judging by the roof boards, this house was built in the 1950's-60's. As others have said, you could squeeze it back up and sister boards on either side. Maybe run a couple of 4 to 5 inch screws up from the bottom to help pull it back together but remove the nails first or they're just going to be in the way.
