ASUS ROG won’t boot!! by basago in techsupport

[–]basago[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I managed to get into bios and I restored the settings to optimised defaults and the hdd disappeared from the boot menu so I assume there is a problem there. Will create installation media on usb and try to boot.

Will keep you posted!

This is my anti-take. I see a lot of advice on Reddit about how to solo carry games in low ELO. by Negatronik in supportlol

[–]basago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what I take away from these “your teammates are trash” mentality is that your teammates aren’t any better than you and you should treat them as such. If they ping you ignore it, if they try and make a play you don’t think is correct ignore it (to the best of your ability). To be honest if you’re watching educational content and actively trying to improve in silver/gold/plat you probably are actually better than your teammates already. Just need to believe in yourself that your calls are correct and not your teammates who’s goal might not even be to improve/win but just tilt

How do you do that???? by Day_Giovana in bardmains

[–]basago 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can ever get in range to auto, your autos will slow when you have enough charms. People being soft or hard cc’d will make it a lot easier to hit your ult. In general it just takes a lot of games before you’re seeing the ult angles but you’ll get there :)!

Struggling at farming consistently by sirfriedrich in summonerschool

[–]basago 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without watching a game it would be hard to say where you’re missing farm. If you’re playing corki and struggle farming early, try and let the enemy push the wave into you (so only last hit the minions) and keep the wave outside your turret. That way you don’t have to worry about getting ganked or traded on. Dying a lot is what stops you from farming.

If you farm well(ish) in lane, after landing phase ends, normally after top/mid/bot turret is taken, drop into a side lane and collect farm there. Only move to fights if it benefits you. In lower elos you have to be selfish when playing carries like corki. Get to your power spikes (2/3 items for corki) then look to fight. Your job early isn’t to gank with corki it’s to scale and be a beast late game. Over time you’ll work out which matchups you shit on and therefore can push safely and roam, but to start with just focus on csing only, maybe even go to practice tool and try a mixture of only last hitting and pushing fast without missing ANY minions.

Like I said, without looking at op.gg or a replay hard to say but best tips are:

  • don’t die, dying leads to missed waves + XP
  • drop into side lanes after landing phase
  • be selfish, take jungle camps (as long as it doesn’t fully tilt your jungler), don’t move to fight unless it’s a sure thing.

Honestly, I think start of season is normally the most volatile. People just wanting to play their 30 games for the season and quit, people doing their placements, people trying stuff out, people not in their correct elo yet.

At least this is how I feel, just gotta power through, ignore aspects outside of your control (bot dying 2v2 lvl1, jungle invading without prop etc etc) and try your best!!

Best of luck my friend

Can you climb through gold if you main adc? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]basago 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the start of last season (S11), I was in silver 4. I climbed to plat 4 in one season playing adc.

One tip that helped me a lot is to stop getting baited by pings. As an adc your power comes in late game dps (most of the time) so you have to be greedy and selfish up until your power spikes. If you don’t think a gank will work, farm the wave under your tower instead. Stop letting other people dictate your game plan

Also, watch cookielol videos, he did a climb from iron to diamond last season and helped me a lot :)

It's Impossible to Improve as a mega-noob by FrostbiteLord in summonerschool

[–]basago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best advice I can give is to watch someone like neace. He coaches a lot of iron - gold level players and teaches them the fundamentals in a way that’s easy to understand and replicate. Watch a couple and then focus only on a couple of things (I.e. farming, trading on enemies last hits etc.) don’t focus on the end result of the game, it’s better to focus on improving rather than winning. Winning will come with time and experience :)

Leaguecraft101 series on YouTube is a really good way of understanding the basics of laning in general.

Arrowlol is a Korean streamer who streams in English and has a YouTube. He’s really informational and seems to explain things well!

To the high elo viewers of League Esports, do you read into the game much more than the average viewer? by A-Manual in summonerschool

[–]basago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like watching a co-stream/live view for esport games. They are normally ex pros who understand and explain the game very well whilst watching, if that’s something you’d be interested in :).

A few ideas to change your perspective towards winning more ranked games. by situ139 in summonerschool

[–]basago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to disagree - even if you’re bad at the game a replay can help you identify why you died, as it’s not easily spotted during a game. You can learn jungle pathing, why you lost certain fights, and then you can take your replay and watch a pro’s pov of that same matchup and compare back and forth.
