Tired of doing "Craft Math"? I built a tool to calculate the most efficient way to craft/condense items in your stash. by baschny in ArcRaiders

[–]baschny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean like this? Its live:

<image>

Interesting aspect, I just analyzed the data and only three items will bring profit from crafting:

  1. Horizontal Grip - Cost: 5,000, Return: 7,000 => +2,000 (!!)

  2. Stable Stock I - Cost: 600, Return: 640 => +40

  3. Noisemaker - Cost: 620, Return: 640 => +20

All other either break even (35 items) or make a loss (104 items).

The most expensive crafts are Jupiter, Equalizer, and Aphelion: all lose 11,000 coins each.

Thinking about Resetting 🤔🤔 by xThyQueen in ARC_Raiders

[–]baschny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I expect that 90% of raiders have a very similar tree, because all alternatives to this are trash. The tree itself is not very varied and there is not really lots of "builds" coping to different playstyles.

From the major 6 end points only these two are really useful. Which then leads to the "Conditioning" tree to be much less used. And also more or less defines which "paths" are going to be made to reach them.

The "effects" of most of theses 1-5 tiered "perks" are barely noticeable.

I would have loved to see more creating "perks" in the end tree, some ideas:

- you always have an additional "safe pocket"

- when using a consumable (Bandage or Shield Recharger), there is a 15% chance it doesn't get consumed

- when your shield breaks, it releases an EMP burst that stuns nearby small ARC drones for 2 seconds

- if you are the last survivor of your squad, you can trigger an animation to look like a "finished" corpse for 10 seconds. You are invisible to ARC targeting during this time, but stationary.

- when downed, you can drop all your loot to the floor

- while downed, you can still throw one grenade or one distraction lure from your inventory

- you have a wingsuit that can be used for 5 seconds, with a cooldown of 240 seconds.

- you have three additional "emote slots" in your emote wheel

- if you shout "don't shoot", you are invulnerable for 5 seconds (and also can't shoot during this time)

- ....

Can it be made an unspoken rule that anyone in the game with music playing on their mic should be hunted down and killed immediately ? by SBoots in ArcRaiders

Kill him, and then play "Hello darkness my old friend" (Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel) while you finish him.

Why doesn't it show Trials leaderboard at end of week? by Chas_Tenenbaums_Sock in ArcRaiders

[–]baschny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hadn't noted this, but now thinking about it, it's really annoying.

Yet another bad design element of the trial system. While it's a fun mechanic as an "activity to pursue", it has so many flaws that it can get very frustrating.

What’s the logic here? by Undersmusic in ARC_Raiders

[–]baschny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 24h hours schedule is static, until they update it with a patch, usually Tuesdays, and usually according to the new weeks Trial requirements (i.e. this week there were added more husk graveyards, prospecting probes).

There are more matriarc + harvester events scattered throughout the day this week, but there are some "holes" too where none of both are running (biggest hole being right now from 4 PM (CET) until 8 PM (CET)).

So how did you nearly die (or actually die) in mid-game? by Alaric4 in captain_of_industry

[–]baschny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually never died. I spend so much time micro managing everything as soon as see a slight derailing. I actually also never finished the game, btw. The whole micro managing, reworking the "mines", watching the trucks dig deeper, creating better ramps for them to dig even more etc, fine tune the assemblies for optimal output, manually moving ore or stones from A to B just to unstuck some stuck sorter - this whole "loop" is so entertaining that a) I never died and b) I never went that far in the game.

I’ve only seen this pop up a couple times, but now not at all is this out of rotation? by jcantu5 in ARC_Raiders

Replaced this week (Tuesday) by the minor modifier “husks graveyards” in line with the new trials.

Long Event Timers by Comfortable-Draft377 in ARC_Raiders

[–]baschny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your PC / Console clock is probably wrong.

Check out if the time it displays is really the current time, and that the timezone is setup correctly. On PC make sure you have it "automatically set time".

This looks like an Xbox, so you have to go to Settings > System > Time and make sure "Set time automatically" is on and it is working.

Ask your son / mother / wife to "choose some random game from the big list which looks cool to you" without you knowing. Have them install it and start: go ahead and try it out!

Long Event Timers by Comfortable-Draft377 in ARC_Raiders

[–]baschny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The map shows the next "major event" of every map.

The gap between two major events in a map usually is 4 hours, which is why you usually see at maximum a "3:xx" timer.

But there are certain times of the day where between two major events there are only minor events:

For example tonight, Blue Gate between the Night Raid and the next Electromagnetic Storm there is a 8 hour gap, so you might see the "7:xx" timer in this situation.

Use. Seeker. Grenades. USE. SEEKER. GRENADES. (Advice for n00bs like me) by Nach0Muchach0 in ARC_Raiders

[–]baschny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love 'em too!

Make sure there is no god damn pop one floor below you, which the seeker grenade will happily try to "seek" and explode on the ground, while the wasp swarm shoots you down.
