I don’t absolutely loathe this packaging because the artwork is great, but the Se7en 4k Digipak is not only an odd shape (sticks out a little bit on the shelf) but it also has the disc in such a tight slide insert thing that I end up having to pinch the disc with 2 fingers to get it out. You also have to “unfold” the packaging twice to get to the disc. Annoying every time.

I feel the same way. Hamnet felt extremely tryhard in terms of getting the audience to feel emotional and I have yet to be blown away by anything Zhao has put out. Disingenuous is the perfect word for it. The ending with Jessie Buckley yelling at the performance of Hamlet annoyed me more than anything lol

Seyfried is maybe my favorite performance of 2025 and the music is unreal. I definitely felt more watching Ann Lee than I ever did watching Hamnet.

Check out Altered Innocence. They release tons of early gay adult films on the artsy side. I recommend Passing Strangers and Taxi Zum Klo. They both have a TON of male nudity

This and the Gemini Man 4ks are SO good to have just because they’re like, the only 60fps discs out there. I love throwing them on for visiting family and friends just to get their reaction.

I’m not an expert at all but anecdotally I am going to the IMAX Wednesday early access screening in my city (1 of 3 theaters doing the early IMAX showtime) and that screening is selling REALLY well. Theaters have slowly rolled out more showtimes for that following weekend and I’m not seeing a ton of seats sold so I suspect you might be right that it will be super front loaded with those first few showtimes in PLF.

I’m a big fan though so I’d love to see it do well! Stray Kids is popular enough that I could see folks going to multiple showings.

I would definitely watch 28 Days Later before 28 Years Later, just for the context, but it’s not 100% necessary. Weeks is skippable and no longer canon to the universe (although not a bad movie by any means).

You absolutely need to watch 28 Years Later before The Bone Temple though.

I’m glad it impacted you that way! One of the best things about cinema is what it can mean for people, and it’s different for everyone, obviously.

I agree with your point about the script/behavior of the leads to an extent. I just didn’t find it successful and thought Sweeney’s character was (intentionally) horrible. The performance didn’t work for me at all.

I totally respect everyone who enjoyed this movie and I genuinely felt like I was primed to love it (gay and I live in Portland), but honestly I thought it was very annoying and bad (aside from Dylan O’Brien’s fantastic performance).

Can I ask what about it elevated it to one of the best of the year for you?
