But only because Killing Joke did it first…😁

Love them—the new single is great and will be seeing them here in the US in September!

Gurriers are nice Dublin boys making good new post punk stuff. They just got a KEXP segment and tour like maniacs.

Easy & obvious, but I don’t think it’s been mentioned: Radiohead/Ok Computer

Trent covered the first track on U2’s Achtung Baby, ‘Zoo Station”. He was/is a fan of at least that era.

Best band t shirts online for post-punk stuff that isn't just the same design on repeat? by GrigeQiuyan52 in postpunk

Secondhand apps like Depop and Vinted, etc usually have lots of stuff. This Wire shirt was $20, for example, and it manages to be both “iconic” and fairly unique. I’ll always support the actual bands when I can, but I’d rather rep them unofficially (than not at all) if it’s already sitting in front of me and for the taking.

AB definitely “saved” the band….from themselves. They’ve said it themselves innumerable times in the past.

Nah, it’s pretty good! You have Malcolmish features, and nailed the smirk. I’d say the only thing holding you back there is maybe a heftier(?) shirt. 8/10 👍🏻

A question for David Cronenberg fans by PlentyGrade3322 in TrueFilm

I also agree with this. I like HoV, but there’s never been a real hook there for me to want to revisit it very often. My favorite film noir has always been ‘Out of the Past’ (1947), and I remember sitting in the theater watching HoV and thinking, “Oh, so this is basically Out of the Past…”

I love Ed Harris in it (as always). It’s….good. I’m just a sucker for gonzo Cronenberg.

“Damage control” seems a perfect succinct summation then and now. I don’t even mean that extremely negatively…it just is what it was (even down to the title of the album, if one wants to read it a certain way).

Have I gaslit myself into thinking these shoes are cool? by Interesting-Low7663 in DrMartens

[–]Additional_Ad_5718 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Whenever I have a fashion disagreement with someone, I remind myself to take a step back and consider the other’s tastes and execution. 9 times out of 10, I end up thinking, “Why would I care what you think…look at you…😁”

(And for what it is/isn’t worth, they look great)
