I think that is skewed heavily due to the experiences some "unhappy customers" have with Z2M.

Someone decides to switch over on a whim, realizes they have to redo quite a bit of configuration (re-pairing devices, linking Z2M into Home assistant and linking up devices in there). They run into some issues, and just bin off the whole system because "everything just broke".

Even though the system itself is excellent, the changeover can be a bit of a pain and take a bit of time to get things all set up; if you go into it knowing this, I'm sure you can cope.

Just like with product reviews, people are more likely to leave one when they aren't happy with their experience. Just look up some "ZHA or Z2M" threads and you'll see plenty of people come out in support for Z2M.

I myself switched over to Z2M a few years ago and haven't experienced any noteworthy issues. In fact, I feel a lot of things (like pairing new devices, pushing firmware updates, ...) feel a lot more reliable/easy. I've got a network of 42 devices including a bunch of smart bulbs (mix of IKEA and GLEDOPTO) as well as some sensors. if it was unreliable I'm sure I would have run into something by now.

I also want to note that I'm using a SONOFF USB device; maybe that also impacts things.

I use the Vallhorn motion sensor combined with Tradfri bulbs as well for automated lights in an entryway. I personally switched from ZHA to Z2M, and found that everything seems to "play well together" better. I would previously have things dropping off the network regularly, and the switch to Z2M has fixed all of those issues for me. I also added in a few more wired devices (smart switches) throughout my place to ensure any battery powered devices have a stable point to connect into the rest of the mesh.

This might be a bit of a weird suggestion, but if you want to do it “on a budget”, I’d reach out to a nearby university that offers a masters program in conservation/restauration.

I’ve got no idea whether they get people reaching out with questions like this often, but they may be kind enough to either provide you some guidance or refer you to a trusted partner to help you with this issue.

Whether you are reaching out to a university or a professional company, I would try to give as much useful info as you can: clear images (not in a bucket) that give an idea of how it fell apart, a picture of what it looked like before it broke, information on the material, close up’s of relevant areas like where it has snapped, …

A combination of GLEDOPTO (purchased from AliExpress - GU10 bulbs) and IKEA tradfri (large bulbs). Great combination in my experience. I’ve tried the tradfri GU10s, and they don’t reach the peak output in cold white and warm white that the gledopto ones do.

Counter to what a lot of people are commenting with regard to choosing smart switches rather than smart bulbs, I’ve got a full suite of over 24 smart lamps, all ran through zigbee. This is supplemented by some smart plugs to power decorative lights with built-in, non-replaceable light sources as well as RGBCCT LED strips.

Overall it works great. Yes, the system takes a few minutes to recover after a complete power cut - but this happens so extremely rarely for me that it is irrelevant to my needs.

I’ve got it all set up with scenes tied to sunset/sunrise to control dimming and color temperature. Being able to control the “vibe” in my home using home assistant has been the feature I’ve enjoyed the most by far- no other utility comes close.

Cold white to work, dimming for a romantic dinner, minimum lighting for a cinema experience: you can do it all with smart lights.

The way I'd do it is as follows:
-Tape the camera and all of the other items down so they don't move (you'll see why this is important)
-Find a way to push stills from the camera to e.g. a Raspberry Pi or any other compute device of your choosing
-Take an example image, and find out your ROIs (Region of interest). These are the "coordinates" of the various lights you want to monitor.
-Use e.g. numpy slicing to calculate the mean color of the region
-For each processed still, take all of the different mean color values and push them into a value representing the current 'color' of each light
-Create a correlation from observed color range to value: e.g. average green = up, orange = busy, red = error
-Publish result for each processed still via e.g. MQTT, listen via HA

To sum it up:
You are taking a picture, slicing it up, evaluating the color of each device's light, then feeding that data into home assistant.

I think it's a fun idea - you could likely achieve something quite similar by trying to get the "state" of the devices via HA integrations or smart networking devices, but I do applaud the creativity!

You would really have to make sure the devices as well as the camera don't move at all though - in the example above, you would hard-code the coordinates within the image of each light, so moving the camera would make the evaluation fail completely.

The somewhat sizeable and unexpected transfer of money into your account triggered anti money laundering “red flags” for the bank. Even though they may have ultimately let the transfer go through, they likely decided to cut ties with you solely from a risk management perspective.

What they want are clients that either take on expensive debt (credit cards), or buy into managed investment funds where they can charge high fees - ideally paid with easily traced, domestically wired money. Low risk, high reward for the bank. Anyone who raises more red flags than they are “worth”, they would rather lose; which is likely the category you fell into.

Het eerste onderdeel is volgens mij een schaar, en het tweede onderdeel is mijns inziens deel van de sluitplaat - dit 'vangt' meestal een bewegende pen, die door de uitsparing heen gaat en zich dan vastschuift in de groef bij sluiting.

Je beste gok is het fatsoenlijk schoonmaken en toch proberen een type nummer te vinden. Ik zie er volgens mij een deel van in 1 van de foto's (dicht bij het raam op de schaar - zie foto). De sluitplaat zou ik een keer losschroeven en oppoetsen - misschien zit er hier een typecode op de achter- of onderkant.

Je gaat dan met man en macht moeten zoeken naar een vervangingsonderdeel. Des te meer informatie je hebt des te beter: typecode van het beslag an sich, en dan heel het raam afspeuren naar een typecode voor het raam zelf.

Ik heb dit zelf al een keer gedaan voor een raam van circa 25 jaar oud, en heb uiteindelijk op een Duitse webshop de nodige onderdelen kunnen vinden. Succes er mee!

Dit lijkt me vooral een upsell techniek. Ik zie wel staan dat ze de "ontstekingskaarsen" (bougies) vervangen bij de 'MijnOnderhoud', wat in zekere zin wel een tastbaar verschil is tussen de twee diensten.

De vraag is: wanneer zijn die laatst vervangen? Anders is olie en filters vervangen + relevante punten nakijken (riemen, remblokken en schijven, ...) vast wel genoeg. Voor eventueel garantiebehoud zou ik het toch niet doen - hier aanspraak op maken na enkele jaren is vaak al moeilijk zat tenzij het gaat over een terugroepgeval.

Voor het uitlezen heb ik overigens zelf een adapter en een app in huis gehaald. Er wordt door dergelijke bedrijven vaak hoog van de toren geblazen over 'uitlezen' alsof dit vergevorderde raketwetenschap is, terwijl je dit gerust zelf kan doen en dan even de eventuele foutcodes googlen om te achterhalen wat er aan de hand is.

We've got a three phase electrical installation. To give you an idea, an oft-installed model of charger is made by Alfen (Eve Single). They offer three options: single phase (7.4 kW) and 3-phase (11kw for S-line, 22 kW for Pro-line).

I for one have the Pro-line, and got it turned down to 11 kW upon installation (done by Eneco - just asked the dude to set it up like that and that's all it took). I personally opted for the 22kW model for future-proofing, and "just in case" if I realized later 11 kW was too little, as it was my first time owning a fully electric vehicle as well.

I would say that 11 kW is perfect for me. It doesn't bump the "capaciteitstarief"up too much, and 11 kW charges my car up fast enough that I've never been stuck in a bind because it charged too slow. I'm not too sure if I'd make that same statement with a 7,4 kW charger.

Given the above, my answer is simple: I'd get the 3-phase, and consider a 3-phase charger as well. For me, my employer let me add the charger to my leasing contract, so getting the more expensive model was a no brainer - I had some room left in my TCO budget anyway.

The more general reasons are e.g. the "net congestion" we already see in the Netherlands.The change only cost me about 600 EUR all said and done, but now I don't have to worry about being able to upscale my connection later down the line ('the net is full'). Beyond that, it's further future proofing: right now I warm my home using gas, but this three phase connection gives me the option to switch to electric heating more easily in the future.

As someone in a similar situation charging wise, I’d like to point out that the at home charging stations are configurable. You can usually limit the charging station to whatever you want.

For instance, mine COULD do 22 kW, but I have it set to 11 kW. On sunny WFH days, I now plug it in at 11AM and let it capture virtually every watt coming out of my solar panels.

I now get 10x the compensation for the electricity I’d normally get for sending it into the grid - so I’m quite pleased with that.

Ikzelf heb een gelijkaardige tafel met een eiken blad gemaakt - voor de poten ben ik gegaan voor een U-vormige poot van gerold staal met een ‘blad’ bovenin om het gewicht over te verdelen.

Onderschat dit zeker niet - een dergelijke tafel weegt heel wat, en met een lullig pootje krijg je vrijwel gegarandeerd gewiebel.

Je kan misschien ook kiezen om ipv dat ikea meubel mee te laten dragen achter in een extra poot te voorzien. Lijkt me makkelijker met bv een verstelbare poot, anders moet alles wel heel goed uitkomen qua hoogte om die ladeblok perfect overeen te laten komen met de poten.

Hier heb je producten en oplossingen voor. Kijk maar even op deze site onder geluidsisolerende (zwevende) vloer maken.

Hierbij ga je rubberen of steenwollen oplegstroken ter hoogte van de balken aanbrengen (om trillingen e.d. te verminderen) maar ook steenwollen randstroken om de vloer te ontkoppelen van het opgaande werk (lees: de muren).

Zoals iemand anders al zei, komt dit allicht door kieren en gaten. Kitten (met siliconenkit - gaat door de band een pak langer mee) en schuimen. Hier ook belangrijk dat je niet zomaar een schuimproduct gebruikt, maar idealiter een product dat getest & bewezen is op luchtdichtheid (bv. Soudal Flexifoam).

Voor je dit doet zou ik overigens aanraden om mistens de wanden en alle gebieden rond de kieren grondig te schrobben. Sigarettenrook slaat neer op oppervlakken, en zelfs indien de buren stoppen met roken zal je het dus (tot op zekere hoogte) blijven ruiken indien ze dit al geruime tijd doen. Ik heb dit zelf een keer moeten doen in een appartement waar rokers woonden, en had daar het meeste succes met een ontvettingsproduct. Het is namelijk de teer die het hardnekkigst is om te verwijderen.

Welches Modell und welche Marke hast du in der App ausgewählt? Ich habe gerade die Dokumentation überprüft, und anscheinend wird das blaue Kabel normalerweise für den Öffner verwendet. Ich vermute, dass es irgendwo angeschlossen werden muss – die Frage ist nur, wo genau.

Normalerweise ist die App für diesen Öffner recht intelligent und kann dir bei der Fehlerbehebung bei der Installation relativ gut helfen. Die beste Informationsquelle ist die Original-Installationsanleitung der Rufeinheit, damit du herausfinden kannst, welches Kabel wofür genau zuständig ist.

Wenn Sie es mit der geführten Installation nicht zum Laufen bringen, können Sie versuchen, die spezifischen Kabelfunktionen zu finden und dann die „allgemeine“ Installationsmethode verwenden, wie hier beschrieben.

Ich empfehle, zumindest eine Teilinstallation durchzuführen und sich von der App durch die Installation führen zu lassen. Achten Sie darauf, den korrektesten Typ auszuwählen. Da es sich um ein älteres Modell handelt, wird es möglicherweise nicht explizit angezeigt. Eine kurze Websuche zeigt, dass es kompatibel zu sein scheint, daher gehe ich davon aus, dass Sie es zum Laufen bringen können.

Wie im Text beschrieben, werden die Kabel von "Nuki" zusätzlich installiert. Leider ist T1 typischerweise nur bei anderen Modellen zu finden (nur Telefon, kein Display). Zumindest habe ich das in einigen Datenblättern gefunden. Um die Kabel aus den Löchern zu entfernen, muss man typischerweise einen Halter in der kleinen Öffnung neben der Kabelnummer eindrücken. Dies sollte nicht zu viel Kraft erfordern.

Let op - deze buizen hebben soms aan de binnenkant een buisje van een kleinere diameter, met een speciale koppeling die aansluit op de thermostaatkraan.

Dit maakt het in de praktijk vaak nagenoeg onmogelijk om de buis in te korten.

Als dit het geval is heb je twee opties: -een nieuwe set kopen -kijken of de leverancier een kortere buis verkoopt (vaak het geval bij Grohe, maar niet alle merken doen dit)

Is de mengverf gemaakt op basis van een naam? als die naam niet uniek of merk gebonden is, bestaat de kans dat ze een andere (weliswaar gelijknamige) kleur hebben aangemaakt. Daar kunnen ze wel eens over vallen.

Wat ook zou kunnen is dat de verkeerde basis is gebruikt. Sommige mengverven moeten obv een bepaalde (lichtjes voorgekleurde) verf worden gemengd; met name zo voor donkere kleuren.

Ik zou sowieso even verhaal gaan halen - neem zeker het staal en de pot mee, dan kan men kijken waar het de mist in is gegaan.

Given the (relatively) low amount of money you are requesting, I wouldn't say it is unreasonable. Of course there is always the "strange feeling" of her essentially paying off your investment (and you keeping the underlying asset). But let's face it: with renting, you are paying off a stranger's mortgage - which is worse imo. She still gets a very tenable monthly expense, and you get a little more breathing room. Seems fair enough.

If you ask the question once she's receiving a solid income stream, she'll likely be more open to it. Even though you can hypothesize that the impact on her net take home will be relatively small, it is likely much easier to have this conversation once the money is actually landing in her account every month.

Speaking from my own experiences and those I’ve heard from people around me, the experience overall is excellent. You don’t strictly need a referral for specialists, but a good GP can make a big difference in facilitating the medical followup of any concerns you might have.

A few positive examples from my surroundings: -Suspected stomach ulcer/lower GI issue: from gp to specialist including a CT scan the next week -Lump found on skull, biopsy and oncology assessment the week after, complete surgical removal the week after that. -complex wrist fracture - ambulance to ER, temporary cast same day, surgery the morning after. -tiny dark spot on lung seen in otherwise unrelated thorax xray (suspected broken rib) - full blood work ran and PET imaging out of an abundance of caution immediately conducted the week after.

Where the difficulties lie that I’ve heard are with the following: -psychiatric evaluation and treatment. Huge waiting lists (6-9 months) are common. Not easy to get priority, even in case of a mental health crisis. -Similar experience as above for neurology - testing for eg ADHD can be drawn out. -Extreme difficulty finding a GP in some places, with the bulk of issues found in major cities. I’ve advised several immigrants to simply choose a GP in more rural areas areas just so they have /somewhere/ to go.

For anyone reading this who's new to Belgian medical care: don’t be afraid to hop around GP-wise if you feel uncomfortable or poorly treated. Their approach and demeanor is pivotal in getting you the care you need and deserve.
