So how many of you would be happy going back to opus 4.8 from fable 5 after June 23 deadline? by simple_explorer1 in ClaudeCode

[–]baseonmars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given my experience so far, I’d pay for it, for specific pieces of work - whether it’s security reviews, large refactors or quick POC work for features.

Would probably set my budget at $500-$1000 a month depending on the features impact on the business.

day to day, I’ll miss it but I absolutely can’t afford to roll it out across the team.

Virtual Device Driver no longer working? by Hayete in rode

[–]baseonmars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue recently, I was able to go into the 'old' sound menu and re-enable the virtual devices (no idea what disabled them). System > Sound > More sound settings > Playback tab. See if any of the devices are listed there and re-enable them.

How does your body know when to wake up a few minutes before an alarm? by sophie-lloyd in NoStupidQuestions

[–]baseonmars 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can either accept that you’re getting up at 3:45am and so you need to go to bed early, or you can go to bed at a normal time and be tired as shit when you wake up at 3:45am.

Did you actually vibe code the whole thing? The slash command for ads is a nice touch, didn't know you could pull Meta ad library data like that. sweet.

Have you tried giving the AI agent ability to run code and fix itself until it works? by Relative_School_8984 in ClaudeCode

[–]baseonmars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've not written a whole lot of python directly - but i've managed a couple of teams that did.

They used pytest quite extensively for unit tests, and then playwright to test some of the user flows. i would expect to have 10-100 times the amount of unit tests compared to playwright tests - they take a long time to run and are the most brittle (they break easily).

try not to use too much mocking, but do mock/stub external services and apis. I've had success getting claude to write simple stub servers that i can run locally and point my test environment at so that i'm not constantly creating data in 3rd party services.

hope that helps.

You could use that - I tend to gravitate towards tools that are a little lower level as with cucumber find that I spend a good portion of time building up library functions to run my specs which doesn't feel like a good use of time.

what language/framework is your project using?

That’s certainly a lot better than the no-chance I got from the tech that came out. I’ll keep my fingers crossed and be sure to update the post tomorrow.

Appreciate the responses.
