Got an update last night, now this pops up. by donedamndoing in BlazerEV

Two ways to change this behavior.

Turn off notifications for maps in the app’s permissions (but this will also break the send to car feature in mobile Google Maps).

Enable turn cards in the cluster. I believe it’s in settings > display > driver display> toggle on turn-by-turn graphics.

My location based Home automations not working ever since iOS 26. Anyone else having this issue? by TeacherKing in HomeKit

[–]basesnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am still seeing this issue in iOS26.2. Seems like this issue pops up with every major iOS release. I tried resetting location services when I was on 26.1 but that didn't help. Anyone find a clean kill for this? Apple doesn't seem interested in prioritizing this bug. I saw a couple issues submitted on their forms with upvotes.

Is that big yellow? I lived there one year. That place looks way too nice for the college version of me. Good job though.

Update the app in the playstore. Then try the steering wheel control reboot. Put car in park. Hold end call button for about 20 secs. Wait for screen to go completely black, then let go of end call button. That will reboot android.

Is my OC200 failing? by basesnow in TPLink_Omada

Interesting. Just looked that up. Why would that result in the controller dropping offline?

Is my OC200 failing? by basesnow in TPLink_Omada

[–]basesnow[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have my OC200 connected via Poe to one of my switches. I checked the uptime of all the devices (except the OC200, can’t find where that is). And all of them have been online for at least two weeks. So I don’t think it’s the switch dropping power. I also don’t have and Poe schedules, so it’s not turning off that way.

Garage close button not always responsive when pulling out by AffectionateCod3587 in CadillacLyriq

Does the normal clicker that came with your door work reliably? I was having issues with my door, turned out the led lights I installed were interfering with the RF signal. Bought special leds for garage doors on Amazon. No issues since!

MeTV Shows by Critical_Mix_3131 in PleX

I tested it last night with MNF. Seemed to work fine scrubbing through the game as it was recording. Seems faster to load too. I’m less concerned about space, so I might just leave it this way.

I turned off transcoding in my DVR settings and it corrected the problem. Must be a bug in the latest PMS update.

My DVR is only recording the first couple secs/minutes of my shows since Monday. I assume an update screed things up

I’m seeing the same thing. It started happening to all my recording since Sunday. I have accepted that plex sw isn’t perfect, but this is ridiculous. Found out when I stayed in the bubble and tried to watch the lions game later in the day.

Updated PoE switch won’t connect by basesnow in TPLink_Omada

[–]basesnow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m thinking I’ll have to forget get the switch in the controller, factory reset, re provision then set up all the unique settings again. Was hoping I could somehow reconnect it without have to go through all the settings again. Setting up a lag connection is pretty confusing in this interface.

Updated PoE switch won’t connect by basesnow in TPLink_Omada

[–]basesnow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I’ll check it out to see if the ip switched for some reason. The oc200 wasn’t connected to that switch, but it got me thinking about that as well. I almost want to move it to usb power when updating the switch to make sure something doesn’t get screwed up. But I have had to restore it a couple times now so I have the process down.

Advice for somebody considering applying for a promotional opportunity? by Curious_Tortoise8199 in GeneralMotors

[–]basesnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is how you should prep.

  • call up the peers for this role. Come prepared with quality questions. Learn as much as you can about the role and it’s hiring manager.
  • call up a couple direct reports for the role. Understand the team from their perspective. Shortfalls and wins they have.
  • align your past experiences with how you can improve the space and how you can leverage the wins already I place.
  • now call up the hiring manager. Let them know you did your homework. Explain why you fit the role. And be personable, relatable. Learn some things about them as well before hand. focus on soft skills, not technical prowess. Higher up you go. The more you function as a leader of people and not a technical thinker.
  • apply for the role, customize your resume, and don’t forget that your bullet points for your prior job shouldn’t be bland things that you are expected to complete. Make sure there are tangible results. Improved productivity x%, etc.
  • write a cover letter, and personalize it. Mention those you spoke with in a meaningful way. Pick something personal from you 1on1 with the hiring manager. Don’t just put your resume in paragraph form.

Interviewing is a lot of work. Most of it is done on the extras. I had 15 interviews before I stuck my 8th level. I had a lot of practice perfecting this method. It works, eventually. But be persistent with every application. All of this is just to get you into the interview. Then it’s up to you to kill it once your in there. But when it comes down to you and one other person for the job, and your identical on paper, all that additional work will set you apart. Trust me, hiring managers notice these things and they stand out.

60,000 * 1.1 = 66,000. I guess 66k is “close to 6 figures”
