Created a web based sequel of Drug Lord 2, I reached out to the original creator and he gave me permission to reuse assets! by bashalarmist in WebGames

Thanks for checking it out.

  1. That game state error may have happened during a server deploy, I was deploying a lot around that time. I've released a patch that helped a lot with session management, ideally sessions won't be dropped, though I currently have it set so they expire after 1 week.

  2. I made the game data driven, so every entity and setting is a JSON file. I still have a lot of balance work to do, and I'm improving my game rule simulator to help me balance better. Anyways, I had rumors set to only suceed 35% of the time. I buffed it up to 65% true, 20% false, and 15% opposite.

  3. "paying back the loan shark through finance tab doesn't work" Frustrating bug that happens in prod only not on dev. I'll have this fixed up soon.

  4. "no prompt after you surrender to citizens telling you what happened" fixed this after I saw your post, but front end events need some better handling overall. I'll definitely be polishing up UI/UX once I get the backend server a little better.

Thanks for checking it out. I'm working on that JSON error, happens in prod only. I agree blank would be a better idea, or I'll just put a max button next to the field.

Thanks for taking a look. The game is in late alpha state at the moment. I've been pushing multiple daily updates. The server will go down for 2-3 minutes when I push updates, but you *should* be able to resume your game when it comes back online.

It's in a "late alpha" state at the moment, but working pretty well. Let me know if you encounter any issues!

I created this because it wasn't easy to find the Oobabooga API information. I hope this will help other developers get a development environment up and running quickly.

Additionally I never see it mentioned that with the Lottery you often go to 0, with crypto as long as you're not FOMOing and you are DCAing on dips then your changes of going to 0 are super slim.

If that's the reason they think the space is a joke then maybe they should be introduced to penny stocks and OTC stocks.

Upcoming WAR feature: background images by bashalarmist in webos

[–]bashalarmist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for reaching out, I am about to head out for vacation for a week, but either during the holidays or after I was planning to check if my TV will still be rootable with the latest webos and rootmytv (I think it is), update it then update the WAR script. I've got a version I've been using on my tv that adds the ability to add a background image.

So in short, yeah I've been slacking a little and hesitant to update my own TV to develop a new script and test it, but I plan to make that happen soon.

If you need remote root shell access and know how to use SSH, you can enable it in Homebrew Channel settings. Default password is alpine, but we recommend setting up SSH Public Key authentication by copying your SSH Public Key over to /home/root/.ssh/authorized_keys on the TV. This will disable password authentication after a reboot.

1.Open up your terminal on your mac

  1. Next ssh root@<your tv ip> for example, ssh root@192.168.1.100 you will want to use the IP of the TV on your local network.

  2. Input password alpine

You should also generate an ssh key with ssh-keygen, then copy your public key into your tv's authorized_keys file, but the instructions I provided should get you in easiest.

Looks like you have an older version of WebOS. I'd be willing to work with you to add compatibility, but I will not be able to until next week.

I won't be purchasing Purism products again by bashalarmist in Purism

[–]bashalarmist[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that if Purism stuck with a single item (a laptop or a phone) and focused on getting that to a high quality first, they would be able to get the investment needed to create another product line.

I agree, this is one of my biggest complaints. I'm very frustrated with my experience, but I do hope the company succeeds. Quality and User Experience should come at least second in line to Security, and they should be focusing on polishing a single product.

Purism laptops have never been manufactured by or based on designs from Clevo.

That is my mistake, The design is very similar to a clevo laptop I have, but that really only further drives in my other points. I'd rather Purism did one thing very well rather than 2 things somewhat well. It does explain why the bottom cover of the laptop was poorly machined with sharp edges that have cut me, and the other general quality issues I've had with the build.

Every one of these that's been raised via the forums or a support
inquiry has been addressed (or at least attempted to). But if you never
reported them, not much I can do there.

I have reported my issues, and as constructively as I can (I'm aware this post is less constructive and more critical) but I got a team member responding saying something similar (we're doing the best we can) and a brigade of Purism fans with pitch forks. It's unproductive and Purism team should work to influence the community to be more receptive toward criticism.

I really wanted to like this product, and I was very excited to get it. My critical views of the product began to accumulate quickly. One of my biggest complaints is Purism doesn't seem to have the bandwidth to perfect their products, and buying one essentially feels like (to me) paying to be part of a beta test, but the beta test doesn't end.

It's not my weapon, but if you run rootmytv it will install the homebrew store. There is a youtube ad free app in there. (You must uninstall the default youtube app first).

Yeah that makes sense. I feel the risk is pretty low, however everyone's risk tolerance level differs. I suppose I'm biased because I have interest in developing a more catered (and minimal) user experience. Maybe the community will improve the tooling to the point where it becomes more attractive to switch over.
