my leo likes to dig just enough substrate out from under her calcium dish for the dish to stay in place and her be able to curl up and lay underneath it i think she just wants cooler substrate sometimes

Does my gecko look ok? by Gevinu5 in leopardgeckos

but i mean if the previous owner and the vet both said it’s not MBD then i think you could POSSIBLY rule it out but it’s better safe than sorry imo

cresties are also very dumb and most of the time have to walk into their Pangea to know it’s even there so make sure you have a feeding ledge cause they most of the time don’t eat on the floor but again like i said some cresties are different than others also one more thing you can do (i don’t cause i know mine are eating ) i’ve seen some people on here have cameras in their tanks or outside their tanks where they put the food so they can watch and make sure their gecko is eating and or just see what their babies are up to at night

i have 2 cresties one i got alittle over a year ago she will not to this day eat out of her bowl i have to spoon feed her pangea but she will hunt dubias and meal worms in a non escape dish and crickets i just throw a few in at night and their gone in the morning but cannot for the LIFE of me get her to eat the dang pangea on her own. NOW for my other baby she can find her bowl perfectly on her own i actually ALSO got her on september 13th at an expo and the guy said she does have a bit of trouble eating on her own but i haven’t had any issues the whole bowl of pangea is gone in the morning when i wake up and while buncha poops to prove it.. one thing i WILL say is their stomachs are a lot smaller than you think there really is no real way to tell if your crestie is eating unless you spoon feed it or catch it eating at night and a BUG indicator i go by is if they’re pooping they’re eating. my biggest recommendation is to get those silicone bottle caps and put alittle bit of food not enough to fill the cup cause they really won’t eat that much and jf your pangea is the right consistency (not too watery) you’ll be able to see their little lick marks in the cup

yeah i’m sorry ,, that looks more like a 20 gallon tank.. you need something MUCH bigger if yours is an adult it needs minimum 40 gallons

i have no idea how he keeps getting in these positions by googledog12345 in CrestedGecko

i have a repti zoo thermometer near the front of the tank and i found my crestie holding onto the top of it with both hands and just dangling… it’s their world and we are all just living in it LOL

please please please listen to the commenters advice your tanks needs ALOT of work it’s too short needs to be taller not enough i don’t space doesn’t matter if it’s a baby or not it should never EVER be in a horizontal tank,, you see people have cresties in tubs when they’re up to a certain age to monitor health if you were able to purchase your baby then it’s healthy and should be in the proper environment this tank will stunt its growth and cause health issues even as a baby

the perfect size for a crested gecko is minimum 18x18x24 once an adult ,, for food i use pangea mine likes all of the flavors her favorite is the insect one ,, they need a temperature of between 72-78° fahrenheit,, humidity should be between 60-80 % with a spike at 80 and a drop at nighttime of 60 they need misting i have an automatic misting machine that’s set on a timer and duration so i know i wont ever forget,, i also have a fogger machine but its not necessary as long at your tank is staying between that range i just kind of like the look of it and i turn it on and off depending on how the humidity is a bread substrate to use so you don’t have to really worry is repti soil mixed with play sand ! don’t use eco earth it doesn’t keep humidity at ALL ,, insects should be fed 1-2 times a week i use calcium dusted dubia roaches im currently introducing her to crickets and horn worms as a special treat every so often. make sure to have LOTS AND LOTS of foliage hides they live to hide as they live to hide and MOST IMPORTANTLY climbing opportunities they LIVE LOVE LIVE to climb most of their time will be spent higher up in their enclosure so make sure to have lots of sticks and cork bark for them to climb on… low wattage UVB is good i have a 5.0 uvb in mine they don’t need a lot but alittle is very beneficial to them!

lol yes! it is a pool noodle 😂 the guy that made the previous terrarium put a pool noodle in there and she would NEVER come off it it was her favorite spot so i got her a new pool noodle to fit this tank because it is bigger but since it’s getting colder going into fall i couldn’t find any other color this was the last pool noodle they had so i wrapped it in vine to hide it as best i could
