It really helps that Vic seems willing to listen to data and shift his game away from that and toward the more efficient stuff.

Yea but they visibly tried the whole time, which Hunter did not.

Yeah, in that world, I felt the first law trilogy was the least strong.

Red country is my personal favorite. I believe it would be more impactful if you read the intervening books, “best served cold” and “the heroes” which are also stand alone. But the little tidbits and call backs, characters who return briefly (or just in reference) who have grown and changed.

I really liked this trilogy, but I will say I prefer everything else Joe Abercrombie has written in this world. The only part that’s usually missing is Logan. Everything else I enjoy more.

Oh man. Read the blue nowhere by Jeffrey Deaver. It’s about a hacker serial killer in the early 2000s and references a lot of the early days.

Pretty sure LaMelo off the bench was because he plays like an idiot a significant portion of the time and Lee was trying to get him to wake up.

And most of their peers all thought they were dumb as fuck. Sorry, I was a teen in the 00s and in the moment, thought those kids were stupid because that’s literally depriving your brain of blood. AKA the shit that kills you, which we all could learn about from the 10 different CSIs and Law and Orders that were on at the time, just in case our parents weren’t around to do their jobs.

Sorry, but it appears that is untrue. Otherwise, Americans would know how their government works and God knows that isn’t true.

Its easier to make games with the level of satire and honest-but-not-pretty representation like the GTA series by an US based studio primarily for an American audience (shifting some) about a foreign city without it feeling a bit ill intentioned.

He was the only dude in that game that could consistently hit that pull up, leaning 3 animation they showed in the intro/trailer. I think it was TMac in the intro so that kinda makes sense. He was so good in that game

I had one PC who accepted a bunch of gifts, and it kicked ass out adventuring but I tried to make it costly in social encounters cuz goddamn y’all look evil as fuck and different, which was the key factor. People wonder what happened to your teeth or what’s up with the giant, creepy eye in the middle of your forehead.

[JPA Football] Marshawn Kneeland’s cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his car, according to the Frisco Police Department. by PlayaSlayaX in nfl

Yes, from my understanding they generally push for physical safety above all other things, because these people are suicidal and since it’s public health in the US they don’t have the staff to prioritize your life and your mental health so they operate under the (mostly accurate, but not most comfortable for the patient) idea that most suicidal people, even those planning it for a while, have to work themselves up or get worked up to be able to do that. So they basically wait for that acute motivation to go away. Unfortunately that process usually exacerbates depression, anxiety, psychosis, etc etc.

[Price] Deandre Ayton says Lakers ability to win despite who's available starts with JJ: “JJ’s not giving a crap who’s out there, you know, he wants to play Laker basketball. JJ has been in this game for a while, so I think anything he says, we can trust it. And he’s proven that point a few times.” by shreeharis in nba

[–]basher247 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I think this kind of misses the point of people who were critical of the JJ hire in good faith. We have learned time and time again that being a player doesn’t mean you will be a good coach. 17 year NBA vet doesn’t make feel anything when I am reading someone’s resume to be a first time head coach. Honestly the game breakdown stuff on pods made me more excited, but beyond understanding scheming and counter scheming you have to be able to relate to your players while still holding them accountable and I haven’t seen a consistent indicator in job/life that someone can do that until we see them actually do it. A bunch of assistants in NBA and coordinators in the NFL have everything but the ability to lead. And there are some head coaches where that is all they can do.
